The Will of the Many

Commander / EDH RGW (Naya) Tokens

Whirl

What started as a humble extension to the Commander 2013 Naya deck, evolved quite wildly since then, and became a token-production machine with several larger-than-life foot soldiers.

Marath is a great toolbox, but he's mostly used to spawn creatures and ocassionaly shoot down enemy combatants. It's especially good with Cathars' Crusade and big mana makers, which may also feed a large token-spawning spell. Ulasht, the Hate Seed serves as Marath's first lieutenant, doing mostly more of the same as its general.

There is a lot of token genearation: be it creature or spell based. Enchantments like Divine Visitation and Parallel Lives provide incredible packup power to all of them.

This deck also excels at making several creatures H U G E because of the swarm surrounding them. Majestic Myriarch, Geist-Honored Monk and Altar Golem are prime examples. Sometimes it's a small creature that becomes big, and sometimes it's the whole team that ends enormous.

Another line of support grants evasion, mostly in form of trample or making it troublesome to block the incoming swarm. There's a suite of card draw, protection, ramp and removal tailored for a token deck. It proved many times that it's well-equipped for quick threat elimination. It's proven itself to be good both at removing other players' stuff and be quite resilient to most of their removals. It may not be top tier, but it's always been fun to play – from it's humble beginnings to the current iteration.

Updates Add

Updates come and go, and I can't quite tell which card was sepcifically swapped for what.

All I can say, during the last year these cards have been the new MAJOR additions: Cryptolith Rite, Divine Visitation, Dragonrage, Elder of Laurels, Finale of Glory, Grand Warlord Radha, Huatli, Radiant Champion, Idol of Oblivion, March of the Multitudes, Overwhelming Stampede and Shanna, Sisay's Legacy.

Meanwhile, the most noticeable omissions are: Auriok Champion, Avenger of Zendikar, Boros Charm, Burn at the Stake, Chancellor of the Forge, Hornet Queen, Increasing Devotion, Martial Coup, Mirror Entity, Rise of the Hobgoblins, Storm Herd and Twilight Drover. All of these cards were even better in my other decks, where they are putting their abilities to work to this day.

That's not all that happened, but it's the most interesting stuff.
