Another creature I would recommend is Ulasht, the Hate Seed . It kinda acts as a smaller, less risky Thromok when you don't want to eat your massive token boardstate to fuel Thromok.

ijustlikethepictures: Ulasht, the Hate Seed. You have inadvertently demonstrated a bug :)
The others are fixed now.

Minotaur Abomination and Undead Minotaur are Zombie Minotaurs only labeled as Zombies. Ulasht, the Hate Seed is a Hydra labeled as a Hellion Hydra.

Sultai_Sir I will give you a comment shortly

my Ulasht, the Hate Seed deck or as I like to call it Big Stompy BOIS is an awesome commander that you wouldn't think is good at first but, is AMAZING

this is better known as abusing your commander's token creation to then make a big stompy BOI/S

this deck is really fun and I own it IRL and it is a beast!!

I meeeeean, you can never build too many decks. ;^)

If you're still thinking about potential commanders, there's also Ulasht, the Hate Seed if you wanna stay Gruul, and Ghave, Guru of Spores is a pretty good one too. Flavorful/themed decks are a lot of fun. I've been wanting to make a Weatherlight themed deck with all the original crew for a while now, but every time I go to do it I end up making something else lol. Maybe one day. Good luck with your little tree creatures. :^)

Would ouphes be a good fit here? While most creatures from the tribe seem to be hard to pronounce, I think Niall Silvain might be especially comfortable here :)

Have you also considered Ulasht, the Hate Seed, Gnathosaur, Vizzerdrix, Delraich, Xantcha, Sleeper Agent, and Dandan?

Atogatog , while maybe not the most difficult to pronounce card, could also give you all five colors if you ran it as a commander.

Thank you! I've had a lot of fun building this deck.

The main goal of this deck is to ramp, throw out many tokens, mana dorks, and strong utility creatures like Scavenging Ooze, Runic Armasaur and Scab-Clan Berserker, then either use Green Sun's Zenith/Finale of Devastation to bring in, or cast, Craterhoof Behemoth, in order to win the game. Alternatively, Garruk Wildspeaker can use his ultimate to Overrun the board, and Chandra's Ignition targeting a massive Ulasht is devastating. As a tertiary method, smashing face with a Kessig Wolf Run is always an option.

Krenko, Mob Boss + Impact Tremors and/or Purphoros, God of the Forge is equally brutal.

The final alternate combo, which can be assembled via Gamble, GSZ, and Finale, consists of a few roles, filled by various cards, and executes as such:

1) The first piece we need is Ulasht, the Hate Seed, our Commander,

2) Ivy Lane Denizen, which allows the combo to go infinite,

3) a source of reoccurring mana in Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar, and

4) either Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, or Goblin Sharpshooter for the kill-condition.

The way it works is when Ulasht removes a +1/+1 counter to make a Saproling token, Ivy Lane Denizen puts the counter back onto Ulasht. You then sacrifice the token to one of the Altars, use that mana to make another token, and repeat the process. Each time you complete this loop, either Impact Tremors or Purphoros will deal damage to each opponent, or Goblin Sharpshooter will untap and you can ping an enemy for 1 damage. Repeat this loop until you win!

triproberts12 on 5 Color Hydra

I mean, if you're going to bother building 5-color hydras, Progenitus is the commander. Without Rosheen Meanderer or Gargos, Vicious Watcher in the command zone, you'll want to run a base-green, land-based ramp package. You'll also want Chromatic Lantern and Dryad of the Ilysian Grove . The deck will mostly just be a slow, durdly deck without a whole lot of synergy beyond +1/+1 counters. Rosheen Meanderer is still the way to go if you want red in your hydra deck. Atraxa, Praetors' Voice would be a good counter commander, if you're okay with losing Apocalypse Hydra , Savageborn Hydra , Ulasht, the Hate Seed , Gyrus, Waker of Corpses , and Progenitus . Polukranos, Unchained could also fit that role, although at that point, you might as well just build Gargos.
