For some reason, every time I make a mono-black EDH deck it ends up being a general 'good stuff' deck rather than my usual focused theme. In this case, I focused on mana ramp with several benefits/mana sinks, especially Gonti, Lord of Luxury and Hedonist's Trove which allow you to play other people's cards.

While you have a variety of mana boosting sources, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth in particular works with Filth , Nightmare , Squelching Leeches , Lashwrithe , Nightmare Lash , and Strata Scythe to give you an aggressive finish.

I also included a lot of card draw options, especially with effects that reward your high mana count like Greed , Erebos, God of the Dead , Skeletal Scrying , and recursion from Phyrexian Reclamation .
