The Locust God commander deck. I've been trying to find a Izzet commander that suits my playstyle, since I wanted to disassemble my Izzet wizards deck for the longest time because I wasn't happy with it, so I wanted another Izzet commander, the choice landed on The Locust God because I really like Tribal. So this is a combo deck with tribal elements. If I wanted to go for pure value, I would have went with Mizzix of the Izmagnus .
Alternatively, the plan is to draw lots of cards, create lots of locusts and kill everyone. the main plan however are the combos in the deck. The locust tokens do have haste, so no haste enablers are needed. a more budget version of this commander can be found here.
3 card Combos in this deck:
Ashnod's Altar + Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Skullclamp pings everyone one by one to death
Ashnod's Altar + Purphoros, God of the Forge + Skullclamp pings everyone at once to death
Ashnod's Altar + Breath of Fury + Coastal Piracy if attached token is unblocked, kills everyone one by one
Ashnod's Altar + Bident of Thassa + Breath of Fury if attached token is unblocked, kills everyone one by one.
2 card combos in this deck:
Ashnod's Altar + Skullclamp = infinite card draw
Curiosity + Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind With Curiosity on Niv-Mizzet the Firemind, you can tap Niv to draw a card, deal 1 damage to an opponent with Niv's triggered ability, and draw a card with Curiosity's triggered ability. This lets you deal near infinite damage to an opponent. You can stop the combo by dealing 1 damage to a creature or yourself.
Niv-Mizzet, Parun + Ophidian Eye = same as above, same is true for Curiosity + Niv-Mizzet, Parun obviously we well as Curiosity + Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind and Ophidian Eye + any of the niv-mizzets.
Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake = infinite mana
Curiosity + Glint-Horn Buccaneer = damage equal to card draw, if you have more than 40 cards left in the deck, everyone dies. but this combo is only possible if you have enough mana to draw up to 8 cards in hand. Then we simple move to discard phase and everyone dies. The new Glint-Horn Buccaneer , gives us the opportunity to go infinite with damage, with the right pieces on the board. then we make sure to have more than 7 cards in hand and go to out end step. we then attach Curiosity to Glint-Horn Buccaneer first, then we disard down to hand size, and Glint-Horn Buccaneer deals damage which triggers Curiosity to draw 3 cards, now we have to discard 3 cards, drawing 9 and so on and so on, each time Glint-Horn Buccaneer deals damage to everyone for all the cards discarded. all we need to do is to make sure to have more than 40 cards left in our library and we kill everyone. we also make tons and tons of locusts, but that is besides the point. this does require setup, but this is alternative win con anyway so. I have considered adding etb damage triggers, then you can just blink it to deal infinite damage after you've got infinite mana, but I don't know. Glint-Horn Buccaneer + Tandem Lookout does the same thing. as does Glint-Horn Buccaneer + Ophidian Eye which I have added to the deck as well as an extra counter spell with Arcane Denial to protect my combo or counter dangerous things.
Update: Currently trying to decide how much transmute I want in the deck to searh up combo pieces.

Updates Add

In: Sage of the Falls , Heraldic Banner , Mystic Sanctuary , Torbran, Thane of Red Fell , Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre
Out: Mindmoil , Echo of Eons , 1 Island , Baral, Chief of Compliance , Jace's Archivist
Mindmoil is great for wheeling constantly, but I really want the option to choose if I want to discard my hand or not and it doesn't give that opinion. Sage of the Falls along with our commander out, lets us draw our whole deck and then kill everyone with our locusts or until we draw some sort of combo piece that finishes the game, which ever comes first. you can choose to stop when ever you want so you don't mill yourself out. Heraldic Banner is another tribal staple, it bufs what ever I name by 1 power + it acts as a mana rock. it's important that it's not +1/+1 like Metallic Mimic & Adaptive Automaton because of Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive . their defense needs to be one to make them unblockable.
2 extra damage from everything thats red is very strong, totally forgot that I should have bought 2 of Torbran, Thane of Red Fell , I got one for my Krenko Mob Boss deck, so now I need to order another one. with Torbran out, your locust tokens deal 3 damage when they connect + anything that buffs them.
