Mizzix of the Izmagnus is a spell slinger style deck that truly maximizes the mana saving abilities. This allows for brutal 'x' cost spells and otherwise painfully expensive spells to be cast extremely efficiently. This particular deck focuses on copying spells to generate even more impact from each individual spell.

Mizzix has the ability to reduce instant and sorcery spells by colorless mana. As shown in the descriptive graphs, most of the deck are of these two types. The deck runs a heavy counter package to protect Mizzix. Cryptic Command , Syncopate ,and Fuel for the Cause are just some of the unusual utility used to protect the boardstate. The commander in this deck is very critical to its success. Please keep this in mind as a potential weakness. The heavy reliance to reduce spell mana cost can cripple the deck's speed and power.

Proliferate is a heavy sub theme that incorporates unique cards with counters. Experience counters from Mizzix of the Izmagnus are the obvious ones to be abused. However, Mind Unbound and Sphinx-Bone Wand are two key cards to keep advantage and finish off the game. Each additional counter on any card is a significant plus. Creatures, enchantments and artifacts can all be used with proliferate effects. Docent of Perfection   adds a new layer of play while creating synergy with other wizard types and the spell slinging deck type. Docent creates 1/1 wizards and is easily transformed to give all wizards an additional +2/+1 and flying. This additional evasion can help finish off low health opponents.

The deck will automatically begin a stormesque type combination by generating huge amounts of mana through red sorcery spells then casting many other spells in rapid succession. The deck has a weakness against continual removal of Mizzix or the other rare creatures. There are a handful of boardwipes to defend against overly aggressive token strategies. However, continuous generation of tokens can be a difficult opposite for the deck to overcome. The deck can easily shift strategies but it still must center around a spell-slinging orientation. In conclusion, spells such as Reality Spasm and Turnabout can easily generate infinite amounts of mana leading to a game ending direct damage or draw spell.
