My LGS has started doing Five-Oh EDH: build a deck with a budget of fifty dollars (basic lands don't count as anything, final price is calculated using TCGplayer mid).

I've tried doing mono-red and mono-green voltron builds, but that didn't turn out like I hoped. So I present a mono-black control build, with a heavy focus on reanimating and reusing the graveyard. After testing, it has actually beaten some non-budget EDH decks, so I've become fairly proud of her.

Major cards are the Gray Merchant and Palace Siege. Greed and Phyrexian Reclamation also create a lot of value for a reasonable cost. Demon of Dark Schemes also does a huge amount of work if left to his own devices. And as always, having a sacrifice outlet is important, and Altar does a great job of it.

The most important card may be Fleshbag Marauder; it's such a potent tool for locking down opponents and ensuring the game goes at your own pace. I've included three copies of it, but one of them is one mana more expensive.

One gameplan is to flip Liliana early, then use her to discard a large threat. Then either she or another card can reanimate it for a low cost. Alternately, you can play a grindy, long game where you answer the big threats and then hardcast or reanimate one of your own threats.

I also considered a similar build using Kokusho as the commander, but it seemed a bit too slow. Thoughts and feedback welcome, as always!
