Maybeboard

Hey! Attempting to make a casual-ish Mono-Black Rat Tribal Deck for Commander on a budget. Still want it to be playable and not constantly lose, but I'm not concerned with winning every game or anything. (Bear in mind that the deck doesn't look very budget, but I happen to already own a lot of the more expensive cards, hence their inclusion)

I'm using Marrow-Gnawer as my commander. I've deliberately not used Relentless Rats because I feel it's less fun and goes against the spirit of EDH a bit. And I've also deliberately not gone with the Marrow-Gnawer//Thornbite Staff combo because that just feels unfair.

34 Creatures 38 Basic and non Basic Land 8 Non land sources of Mana 20 Artifacts, Instants, Sorceries and Enchantments

The basic strategy is to use Marrow Gnawer to swarm the field with Rat tokens. The creatures mainly cause opponents to discard cards, direct damage to player and buffs to other Rats. Ratcatcher helps get more rats out on the board and Ogre Slumlord helps makes the rats more deadly and keep the board covered in tokens.

Marrow-Gnawer is also meant to work with Grave Pact. Every time a Rat is sacrificed every other player sacrifices a creature. This also then works well with Patron of the Nezumi which also causes the opponents to lose a life every time aswell.

Artifacts, Instants, Sorceries and Enchantments are mainly used for gaining more mana, tutoring, creature removal, card draw, card discard and creating more Rat tokens

Anyway, take a look and let me know what you think!
