This is a commander deck that uses Vorel of the Hull Clade as it's commander that I've slowly built over the course of two years. It depends mostly on artifacts and charge counters, as well as key combo pieces, to build an engine and hopefully play your whole deck, winning with infinite mana and Simic Ascendancy , or by getting a tank with infinite counters through to deal damage, or nice and simply with a Triskelion . It is decently consistent, but not very similar to what is suggested by EDHREC. Cards such as Defense of the Heart really have no thematic similarities, but give me a cool tutor and an overpowered card. I really enjoy the +1/+1 and charge counters that Vorel uses; cards like Etched Oracle , Eternity Vessel and Master Biomancer really make it come alive. There are several infinite combos, not all involving Vorel; to perform a combo, he needs either Pentad Prism , gemstone arrary, or Crystalline Crawler along with Freed from the Real or Pemmin's Aura . These are easy infinite mana combos, and when combined with cards like Genesis Hydra , Eternity Vessel , or Fathom Mage (to name a few) it is quite powerful. Overall, he is just an extremely underrated and powerful commander that really does a great job at combos or even just synergies. More recently, combos with Gyre Engineer , Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle and Incubation Druid have been made possible. Combining any of these three with Freed from the Real or Pemmin's Aura can easily lead to an infinite mana combo. There are about 15 additional lesser combos, notable being infinite combos with Kiora's Follower and another with Magistrate's Sceptor.
