History

I had built mono-black vampires when Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet was released. I switched it around a few times with Erebos, God of the Dead finding an interesting way to gain life when drawing cards through Exquisite Blood + Psychosis Crawler though most of my mana ramp artifacts were already in my Ashling the Pilgrim voltron lifegain deck

When Edgar Markov I was tempted to build that version of vampires but at that time I already had 2 mardu decks, with Alesha, Who Smiles at Death (who rarely got used) and an old build of my Knight Tribal deck - which has since evolved into Mardu Infinite Turns

I always try to do something unique with my decks. It doesn't always work out, my Glissa, the Traitor is a Golgari control build. Though even that has managed to recreate Prophet of Kruphix and runs the old KCI modern combo.

Anyway, VAMPIRE MILL! Designed to be one of my powered-down decks and with the challenge of running ZERO tutor cards. This can be easily one with Simic - looking at elf builds of Edric, Spymaster of Trest. If nothing else, it's a fun place to put my collection of vampire cards. The mill theme isn't the dedicated focus, with only 8 cards, but how they interact with the deck is effective.

Kindred Discovery is easily one of my favourite tribal spells. The amount of card draw effects in this allow for a different version of vampires than what most builds would. The counterspell package is typically used to protect the board from wipes or removal. There's a bit of mana reduction effects in the deck, which does help to push the vampires out faster and means I can keep mana open for instant speed interaction.

I don't typically run 2-card combos but I've made an exception with this deck because I have no tutors. Helm of Obedience + Leyline of the Void and Exquisite Blood + Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose . Cheating out Flood of Tears + Omniscience on the battlefield, you can create infinite vampires and draw triggers with Sublime Epiphany + Vampire Charmseeker
