My altered Ruric Thar deck. Ramp hard, hit hard!

-This deck is an altered version of a deck that a good friend of mine gave to me as my first commander deck. I am slowly tuning this deck into being more aggressive and having more reliable ramp/draw.

So, with Allegiance around the corner, Gruul has gotten more goodies to play with. One such card is "Rhythm of Savagery". A 1RG enchantment that keeps creature spells you control from being countered and gives non-token creatures the new Riot mechanic. In this deck, I would say that this card is a strong contender to replace "Fires of Yavi Maya". Fires is a good card in its own right, giving your creatures haste and you can sac it for an extra burst of damage. But with Rhythm does roughly the same thing and keeps pesky Blue players from countering our creatures. On top of this, it allows for some flexibility. You can either give your creatures haste or a +1/+1 counter depending on the situation. That is nothing to sneeze at. This deck wants, like any other Aggro deck, to hit face and hit fast. There are only a few things in the deck that help enable that, namely Urabrask, Anger and Xenagos.

Fires was meant to shore up that crux by giving our creatures haste earlier. Rhythm can do the same with upside by allowing creatures our early ramp creatures to hit the board and start ramping asap. On top of that, it gives the deck the ability to apply even more pressure earlier, with either hasted creatures or allowing them to withstand hits from removal. That's a lot of upside for this deck.
