List of my 1st commander deck I've had, based on Glissa, the Traitor artifact retrieval.

I made this list mostly for myself since I'm going to move most of the cards to my two new decks from it, so it's just more sentimental to remember the first deck I've started my EDH journey with and maybe for giving some inspiration to everyone :) Two new decks I'm going to make from the split cards of this one will be based on EDH Ishkanah, Queen of Spiddies! and an Infect deck (maybe with Glissa as commander as well).

When I wanted to start my EDH journey, I've found somewhere in the internet deck-list called "The Deathtrap", kinda similair to what this deck is now. Started with all cards from that list, I've kept upgrading it and removing all the things I didn't like, finished up with this.

Well, enough of the story, let's say something about the deck itself. It's not typical all-in damage or control deck. Instead of straight winning the game, that deck focuses more on annoying people with tons of removal, while ramping at the same moment and getting your win conditions. There are only a few of them, yet I didn't usually have a problem with finishing the game with them.

Commander

Glissa, the Traitor is kinda a tricky card. Simple, effective and cheap in mana. Ability of first strike AND deathtouch will keep people away from you for most of the game. Her atrifact retrival ability allows you to put all of your favourite artifacts in this deck, making it fully customizable for what you would like to play. Her cheap cost also makes her come back easily when she's wiped out of the board (with Cabal Coffers on board my high-score was making a comeback 11 times).

Some more important cards

~ Wurmcoil Engine, Myr Battlesphere, Noxious Gearhulk - while this deck doesn't focuses on creatures, all of these cards are artifacts as well, making them reusable with Glissa's ability if they will land in grave. Some huge bullies are always nice, huh?

~ Mimic Vat - one of the best artifacts you could play in this deck. Works well with your own creatures (like Noxious Gearhulk or Eternal Witness), as well as with your opponents. Imprinting Rune-Scarred Demon and similair things is always nice.

~ Mirage Mirror - thing that can become anything. Need other Cabal Coffers? Or is your opponent playing Armageddon while having Avacyn, Angel of Hope and didn't see your sneaky mirror thing? Keeping two mana open for this thing did save me more than once.

~ Grinning Totem - playing EDH is mostly playing for fun, and what could bring you more fun than looking for a Crux of Fate in The Ur-Dragon deck, but casting it a bit more different that it was meant to be? Also, because it's an artifact, it's reusable with Glissa. Infinite fun!

~ Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth + Cabal Coffers - your huge mana combo for all X spells you need to cast. Expedition Map (reusable with Glissa) is here to help getting these two.

~ Garruk, Apex Predator - big bully that can help you handle many things.

~ Executioner's Capsule - Simply said a Doom Blade with buyback when Glissa's on the field. Easy to use, easy to recover from grave and can do a more selective cleaning when you don't want to use a board wipe.

~ Plague Boiler/Nevinyrral's Disk - while there are still cards like Damnation or Pernicious Deed in this deck, don't forget that these two can be recovered with Glissa's ability. And what's more fun than a re-usable board wipe?

Win Conditions

~ Exsanguinate / Torment of Hailfire - two things that works fairly similair. Torment is an ultimate finisher after you cast a boardwipe, while Exsanguinate has more surprising effect while all players still remain in game.

~ Genesis Wave - casting this thing with X about 20 (which is totally doable in edh) can make you put most important things into the battlefield, making finishing game easier than ever.

~ Vraska Planeswalkers. Vraska is my best girl in mtg, and while the newest one (Vraska, Scheming Gorgon) doesn't really have a huge impact with her + ability in this deck, I managed to finish games with ults of these 3 a lot of times. Even if they are not game finishers, all of them can be considered at their worst as an extra removal for triggering Glissa's ability.

:)

Thanks for checking out/reading :) If you have suggestions feel free to leave them here, maybe when I'll be bored with new spiders/infect I'll come back and improve that deck.
