A Greedfall inspired deck.

The Concept Show

Tana represents Sìora, daughter of Blàdnid: a young sage of her clan which lives in harmony with the earth, respecting it and defending it from external threats. In exchange, the land gives her its powers which can help her in combat. Nadier is de Sardet, legate of a merchant faction who came into contact with the natives of the island of Sìora. He falls in love with Sìora and decides to help her in defending the island from foreign conquerors, by uniting the clans of the island.

The island of the two partners, Tìr Fradì, is of flourishing nature, luxuriant but not defenseless. Several beasts of all kinds live here. The heart of the island is the volcano that hosts the spirit of the island, "One of a Thousand faces". Not only he's the source of the life of the island, but it also gave the natives the powers to defend themselves and the island through the Guardians: the sagest and most bonded to the island from the clans, after death, can become one of those giant creatures with the form of the ecosystem to which they were bonded.

Into the Deck Show

The Powers of the earth to the Natives: the first thing that came into my mind was Totem Armor: it gives strenght, but also protects against possible destruction. In general, I thought Auras to be the quickest way to represent the "gift" the island gives to its inhabitants, and through Sìora, that same powers helps the land growing.

Uniting the Tribes: this is the work of de Sardet. With the help of the tokens made by the partner, he can grow its "charisma" so that when it finishes its job, many warriors have been gathered for the defense of the land. When this can't happen, he can ask the land for help (Auras) or use Equipments, which are fairly underdeveloped as I wanted to stress the bond with the Island. I'd appreciate any help to balance these two "Voltron" faces!

The Island: for the Volcano part, Valakut themed cards helped me in a way, but I feel it could be better. I'd like to stress the naturalistic part of the natives without going on mainstream solutions like Nissas, Avengers, Omnaths and the like. Mutate could cover part of the...mutation part into the Guardians, though I must say in Jund there aren't many nice choices. Maybe some big, beefy creature like Ghalta, Primal Hunger could do the job? I need suggestions! Finally, to incarnate the "spirits" of the island, both natives and naturals, I've resorted to Constellation and Nyxborn -which synergize well with auras too- to represent the unity between the forces of the earth and the help they do to Natives.

To summarize:

1.I need to balance Auras and Equipments both in flavor and playability. Cards like Bravado which emphasize the unity of people can be nice, but maybe some similar Equipment can make the deck more resilient?

2.The Guardians: what can represent them? The less mainstream are -but nonetheless strong- the better! The flavor of the deck, while complicated, should kind of prevail over the competitiveness, but still it needs to be funny!

3.The same can be said for cards that represent the bond between the natives and the earth: it's not "refined" like elves civilizations, but a more sincere and straightforward one, simple but deep. I tried to avoid Gods as they're too much part of one plane, but it's always a last resort. Shamans also seem worth considering.

Under the Meh category will fall cards that didn't perform quite well, or could be substituted by better flavour choices.

1st Update: Fervor , Madcap Skills , Thrill of Possibility , Treasured Find , Vow of Wildness to be substituted by Subira, Tulzidi Caravanner , Satyr Nyx-Smith , Shamanic Revelation , Moraug, Fury of Akoum , Temur Sabertooth . I really want to try Subira, especially with all the tokens I make: logistics win wars and ensure unity between the clans. The satyr makes enchantments, as he's evoking from his forge the spirits of the volcano (and many constellation triggers). Sabertooth+Nadier=Profit.
