Background Show

The basic idea of the deck has been bouncing around in my head for so long that I just had to get it down finally. The deck originally was pure Samurai tribal, fitting in basically everything Samurai that it could but it was weak & unbalanced. It then went to Kamigawai good stuff but was far too creature heavy. The final forms came about when it was decided to split the deck into different types. With this one focussing on humanoid legendaries from Kamigawa & a future deck being based on The Book of Five Rings with spirits as its core.

This build still relies on Samurai tribal with Arcane Adaptation so creatures such as Godo, Bandit Warlord & Iizuka the Ruthless, so added in Awakening Zone to passively get some Scion tokens to sacrifice (when Arcane Adaptation is on field to make them into samurai creatures) & use for bonus mana.

the basic strategy of the deck is to get Kindred Boon & That Which Was Taken on field as soon as possible & start giving all of your creatures indestructible. This is combined with Fumiko, the Low Blooded's ability to make opponents' creatures attack each turn & Vault of Archangel giving all of your creatures Deathtouch and Lifelink, so your opponents hit a wall of invincible instant death.

What the deck does: Show

For the early game Azusa, Lost but Seeking helps to ramp out with the usual green ramp spells. Trying to get down as many anthem effects as you can since Samurai are famously weak in terms of Power/Toughness. Kintaro, the Smling Cat also helps cheat out Samurai & Adapted creatures with his X generic ability, so you need to aim to get him on field ASAP, hoping that he won't be removed immediately. Tamiyo, Field Researcher is another way to play creatures for free & get some cards -she fits the theme because she is from Kamigawa originally.

Opal-Eye, Kondo's Yojimbo works as a wall when giving a Divinity Counter to make him Indestructible, taking any damage that might hit you to the face, whilst Eight-and-a-Half-Tails adds extra protection from attacks and as well as get damage in with his change colour ability.

Riki, the History of Kamigawa acts as card draw basically any time I cast a creature & Time of Need to tutor specific legendaries. Kiku, Night's Flower acts as removal whilst Godo adds extra combat turns and Masako the Humorless can allow your creatures to attack even when they are tapped down or have activated their ability.

Will work on some recursion later. As well as a purely spirit version of the deck.
