Dinos just wanna go Chomp Chomp!

This is a fun-fueled build, entirely dedicated to developing a deck for Ghalta, Primal Hunger and his massive kingdom of dinosaurs!

A Mono-Green () shell for stompy, dinosaur goodness!

The Storm Approaches

...the Food Chain has been disrupted! Etali, Primal Conqueror   stands proudly, hungrily gazing at the kingdoms of Ixalan. The rest of the elders can eat their hearts out; the King bows to no one, not even Ghalta, Primal Hunger can satiate Etali's lust for Domination.

Reinvented as a Gruul () colored deck, now featuring more Combos and synergies sure to keep your playgroup on their toes. Rumble Rumble something something I am the Storm.

"Okay, what do?"

(Notably, I've included only two synergies that I think could be considered outright Win-Cons.)

Majestic Genesis

(Majestic Genesis registers when cast for at least , and I am unsure if Commander Tax effects this. Ghalta, Primal Hunger helps cast for a huge value, while retaining the ability to be cast super cheap, as low as .)

This means you flip the top cards of your library. That's very considerable value.

this combo will likely be coming out of the deck as the specification of the casting cost means that Etali actually provides a lot less value to this resolution.

not only that..but once I've detailed some of the other Combos, their collective mana curves stand a better chance of having a lower total cost.

Food Chain

When we have Food Chain on the field and you have Ghalta, Primal Hunger in play, it goes something to the following.

User NoobNoob275 says that:

"As long as you have a creature with power value 3, you have a positive mana gain."

(With the above statement, and what we know about how chunky Ghalta is...)

..you essentially can amass a nasty boardstate, and with enough of a Domino Effect in play with succeeding more powerful creatures into play.. the synergy has the capability to play out your deck.

Again, as NoobNoob275 said, you can:

And then play deck to swing face.

Things like:

Are also good ways to close out the game.

Updates Add

With the release of March of the Machine (2023), I've received a super cool dinosaur in Etali, Primal Conqueror  Flip. Thematically it reminded me of the Jurassic Park movies, and with how the story Spotlight showed that Zacama, Primal Calamity ferociously kills Etali, Primal Sickness  Flip with the help of the remaining Elders, prior to Ghalta and Mavren's team-up.

As a core update concept, I'm going to be including some fun Combos, and it's inspired by a former build of mine: Dino-Combo.

My intention is that by going the (almost) best route with color identity, this deck is retaining an air of casual fun at the edh table, while providing me access to a few more super cool win outlets.

The initial playthroughs showed me that it's a bit slow to get up to par, even for a Mono-Colored casual deck. I think that says a lot for a playgroup of more than 4 players at a time regularly. The issues I encountered was not having enough results for my spells. The produced results were less impactful than they needed to be, and admittedly its because I wasn't using the color red.

I need to have a wider net than Mono-Green for a dinosaur themed build that has to have tempo. Etali, Primal Conqueror  Flip all by himself is a nice nod to the original, who regularly fucks up Edh tables. (I.e.,: Etali, Primal Storm)

While the reverse side, Etali, Primal Sickness  Flip is a steep mana cost that can be hit by all the typical response, its a Gruul-colored Blightsteel Colossus.

At this point I don't have any notes about what I intend to include in the deck other than the aforementioned passion project I had already detailed. By name I know that means Polyraptor combo is gonna be a main inclusion, and I'll forever simp for my favorite Theros God (sorry Keranos, God of Storms)... Klothys, God of Destiny.
