I think the vampire deck is the strongest of the 2017 commander decks because of the strength of the reprints, newly printed cards, and Edgar's eminence ability. I feel like this deck can be tuned pretty well for casual play with very little investment. This decklist is a rough copy of what I came up with on a $50 budget to achieve this:

• Tried fixing the mana-base as much as I could on a budget by reducing the number of ETB tapped lands. I think this is probably as good as it's going to get at this price range, but I'm welcome to suggestions that I may have missed.

• Edgar's eminence ability is incredibly powerful in that you basically start the game with an emblem that tells you to pump out a token every time you play a vampire. Because of this, I tried to lower the average cmc of creatures and included a few more 1, 2, and 3 drops since these are the cards that return the most value from his command zone ability.

• Also included a few more sac-outlets via creatures because I think creatures with activated sac abilities will create more value in this particular deck with all of the tokens we will hopefully be making. Can't wait to use Yahenni in this deck.

• Subbed in more removal with destroy effects since that is synergistic with some of the other pieces in the deck. Took out mass removal and replaced it with some recursion because I think we will have a larger board state that our opponents most of the time.

• Tried to maintain the life-gain subtheme because it works well with a lot of the cards in the precon. Not sure if I increased or decreased the amount of life gain cards, but there's still a lot of lifelink creatures as well as other ways to gain life in the deck.

Total money spent on upgrades: $35.59 (I intentionally left myself this far away from my original $50 budget so I can consider some suggestions for inclusions/removals in the future that may be a bit pricey.)
