Story behind the deck Show

After seeing the new Vraska I was inspired to make a deck that would create a bunch of tokens to be turned into her assassins. The theme of the deck has shifted slightly away from wide token armies, however the deck still wants Vraska to lead it. Right now the deck needs work getting a good engine going, Meren of Clan Nel Toth is in the deck as the face with good utility to back Vraska up. Vraska, Golgari Queen is the true commander of the deck, however she is part of the 99 because she is not a creature or one of the few plainswalkers that can be commanders.

The Hunt for the Right Commander Show

So I have gone through the use of The Gitrog Monster and Savra, Queen of the Golgari both of which seemed to pull away from the main focus of the deck and so now I am working with Jarad and we will see how it plays out. He has great utility with feeding the graveyard and then getting bigger by doing it. After playing with him for a while I will be keeping him as the commander for this deck. After a long time playing the deck I switched over to Meren as the commander for the deck because of just how crazy the deck gets with her.

Why Meren Show

She is a huge powerhouse for the deck and with the number of sac outlets I have I can quickly get a large number of EXP counters that can be used to fetch any of the creatures in the deck. While she does draw a lot of hate once she gets going she is almost impossible to stop, Grave Titan is a great way to rebuild quickly after a board wipe which this deck doesn't really mind if set up

How to Play Show

The goal of this deck is to try and use as many graveyard reanimate shenanigans as possible to take advantage of Jarad and Meren working together to make an undying army that doesn't even need to attack to win.

One of the things this deck does quite well is continuesly rebuild so loosing creatures will never be a problem with the deck and instead becomes quite useful. Case in point using Meren of Clan Nel Toth and a helpful sac creature like Sakura-Tribe Elder can pump out experiance counters while getting tons of lands out onto the battlefield until you get a more important creature like Sidisi, Undead Vizier to get any answers you may need.

Some Trouble with the Deck Show

One problem I have found with the deck is that it does have a hard time against fast pasted agro decks especially ones with fair amounts of trample as the creatures in this deck are very low toughness and the deck revolves more around using combos and tricks to win than just raw power. I do not currently have a good way around this other than spot removal and a board wipe or two knowing I can rebuild much faster than the other deck.
