Sheoldred, the Apocalypse stars in this new version of "Mater Tenebrarum: 𝕰𝖝 π•·π–šπ–ˆπ–Š 𝕬𝖉 π•Ώπ–Šπ–“π–Šπ–‡π–—π–†π–˜"

It's the end of days, and Sheoldred has decided that he's going to sit back and enjoy it.

This deck isn't meant to be cEDH, but to be synergistic and oppressive (though ultimately fair) and have an answer for every other strategy (artifacts, agro, life gainers, etc). This is a real deck, and it's still a work in progress. Suggestions are welcome.

THE PLAN

  1. Summon Sheoldred, the Apocalypse
  2. make your opponents lose lives as fast as possible with no draw advantage.
  3. profit

This deck is primarily focused on utilizing the synergistic majesty that is Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and taking advantage of every little draw of cards that Mono Black has to offer. Currently, this deck has approximately 20 - 25% draw cards. The only thing is to simply have Sheoldred (or Underworld Dreams) in the battlefield. With this in mind, revive (use graveyard) and Malakir Rebirth can be useful to keep her alive for more than one turn, don't be afraid of her using the graveyard, for that you have revive resources or Volrath's Stronghold. If/when your opponents manage to remove her, you have tons of mana (K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth) to help bring her back or the other creatures.

Your ideal turn 1 will include some ritual, Sol Ring (Ancient Tomb, second turn, or Mana Vault) in hand, allowing you to play Sheoldred on turn 1, therefore maximizing your life gain capacity. Otherwise, it's plausible to play her in 2-3 with other ramp pieces like yet Medallion or some mana rocks. As always getting Seizan, Perverter of Truth or Master of the Feast or even Erebos, God of the Dead into the field early is pouring gasoline on your self immolating fire which is monoblack so if you have them in hand they can help you accelerate and past the opposition as soon as possible. You want to get the Commander on the field and start playing as many of her usual pieces as possible. Cards like Teferi's Puzzle Box, Howling Mine, and Underworld Dreams will give you tremendous regular value while syphoning away your opponents life (and sanity) out. Cast a Peer into the Abyss or Damnable Pact for a little extra spice and watch your opponents cry. If you can get Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Bolas's Citadel onto the field, you should be able to get everything you need out of the deck.

With all the extra ramp potential present in the deck, (that's the reason why it is not a budget deck) you should always be able to play pretty much anything you want from turn 3 or 4 onwards. With that in mind, we have several alternative mana/life wincons like Bloodchief Ascension and the other jewel of this deck: "Chains of Mephistopheles " for when you need to finish things off closingthepaddock, or maybe you're looking for a more traditional wincon with Peer into the Abyss
