I originally wanted Karn, Silver Golem as my Commander until I realized, being new to the EDH format that I'd be relegated to playing only artifact spells since you can only play colors that are in your Commander's casting cost. Esper seemed like a fun combination of colors so I went with Sharuum the Hegemon. I'm debating as to whether Sen Triplets would be better, although the mana may need some work to make that happen.
