I hate infinite combos. Boring, linear and a waste of time.

However I love mono green for its explosive power, ramp potential and a very unique sort of protection from opponents interaction.

Unfortunately, most mono-green decks require Gaea's cradle to generate ridiculous amounts of mana, to close games fast without infinite combos. Now, a cradle costs roughly the same price as a kidney. Since I'm pretty broke, that's out of the window for me. Other mono green decks are explosive but just die to being board wiped like elves. Build up so much steam to lose in a turn. And in EDH, people run a ton of board wipes, so its not a good idea to play something like elves.

Selvala presents a great opportunity to bring to the table a combo deck that can be pretty devastating to our opponents on turn 3. As well as being explosive and resilient for most of the game since we have a fair bit of protection for our girl as well. Any other casual deck in edh involving her is either too slow (hydra tribal) and prone to being board wiped which sucks and any other brostorm deck just wants to throw down the kitty cat and the ant and then make infinite mana to draw your deck and win (more or less anyway, could be the scout and the ape).

Absolutely, terrifyingly boring in casual edh. Not just for me but my opponents as well. Personally, I live to see my enemies suffer when i annihilate all their lands at one go, so I present to you this brew.

The other thing is that these big boys are indestructible so only the white/ plains player can do something about it (black players have to pay 11 life for a Toxic Deluge. Now who would want to take one of the team, I ask you?)

So here's the turn three dream that i pulled off before:

T1: Forest, drop mana dork(elf)

T2: Forest, cast Selvala

T3: Forest, drop untapper such as Wirewood Symbiote, drop Phyrexian Dreadnought and as the sacrifice trigger is on the step, tap Selvala for 12.

tap mana dork for 1, return it to your hand with symbiote and untap Selvala. Tap her again for another 12.

You now have 25 mana floating on turn 3. Congratulations.

Since I hate comboing out, my inner timmy says okay, lets play some fat stuff. We have 4 lovely gentlemen/women to help us with that. 4C2=6, 6 combinations of Blightsteel Colossus, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and Ulamog, the Infinite gyre at our disposal. Destroy/Exile our enemies plains so they cant exile our big boys and just smash face, annihilating more lands until we win by nothing but FAIR COMBAT DAMAGE.

Of course most of the storm shell is present so if somehow we get really hated on we can end this stupid game in a single turn with the magical words, "I tap selvala for..." and the rest is history.
