This deck began with the "From the Vault: Angels" box. Loved the idea of Gisela, Blade of Goldnight as a Commander, so I built this deck with the Red/White Angels in that box to begin. Recognizing the inherent weaknesses in the colors, I've compensated with Artifacts to make this a playable deck.

Angels are CMC expensive, so there are several ways to get them from hand to battlefield: Urza's Incubator , Quicksilver Amulet , and Belbe's Portal provide alternative casting costs for Creatures in hand.

The strength of the deck is in it's ability to field big flyers in quantity, and with the Commander on the battlefield, quickly follow with attacks on opponents. Gisela changes the game -- once out, this deck's winning chances expand greatly -- but lasting until then can be a challenge. Strange, perhaps, is that the more players in the game at the start, the more often the deck tends to win.

7/9/19 Due to card ban, Iona has been replaced by Angelic Guardian . Also removed Mirrorworks , Razia, Boros Archangel and replaced them with Rings of Brighthearth and Angel of the Dire Hour .

"Boros is oft' thought to be the lessermost of the Great Houses. Yet witnesseth the truth of it: the Battle doth surely changeth whenst the Angels fly forth!" --Nagarin the Wise, Trillith Priest. Address to the Red-Cloaked Legion before the Third Battle of Yalliq

This is deck 11 of 15 Commander decks I have posted here.
