In Soviet Russia, Snake Hug You!

As is true in many pods, the power level of decks has increased slowly-but-surely over time. Many consistent draw engines, especially on the Commander, mean my fellow players have many resources and options to choose from.

Xyris seems like an odd choice at first, but actually makes a ton of sense when you play against decks that draw a lot. The key here is to get more value out of the opponents' cards than they do. A card they draw but do not play before the end of the game does not add much value outside of utility and discard fodder, so we want them to draw AS MANY CARDS AS POSSIBLE once Xyris is on the field, trusting WE will get greater value out of all their drawing power than they will.

There's a couple infinite combos hidden in the deck, like either Niv-Mizzet and Snake Umbra.

Favorite kill so far: Discarded 40 cards from my hand into Channeled Force to make my opponent draw 40 cards, then made them mill the rest of their deck with Folio of Fancies.
