Dragonscale Boon
Instant
Put two +1/+1 counters on target creature and untap it.

Skullbriar is the commander so you can have it relocate to your command zone should he die/be exile/return to hand. The only place that makes his counters dissapear is hand and library.
Dragonscale Boon instant 2 +1counters untap. Can create suprise blocker. Evolution Sage land etb proliferate which is choose any number of things add an additional counter of whatever they have.
Smell Fear new removal option.
Reyhan, Last of the Abzan highly suggest this. Turns anything into a threat with your commander dying.
Solidarity of Heroes double counters for a potential Instant speed kill out of no where.
Biogenic Upgrade double counters after adding 3.
Branching Evolution counters doubler
Heroic Intervention protection
Fight Rigging free spell + counter per turn.
Hydra's Growth double counters
Primordial Hydra 2ndary threat if left alone. Synergies well.
Realizing now I didn't suggest any evasion. Some sort of evasion could go a long way. Trailblazer's Boots is the best example. Can't be blocked if your opponent has a nonbasic land. Essentially unblockable every time.
Evil idea
Tainted Strike infect kill someone. Can target opponents creatures too to surprise both and kill someone.
Glistening Oil infect.
Phyresis infect.

Love seeing budget builds! +1 from me!
Have you considered Viridian Joiner for Ramp and Wild Beastmaster for a go-wide style effect similar to Syr Faren?
Rancor is always a good shout in Green for recursive trample and a sweet +2 power, especially when it comes to things like Syr Faren which have power matters effects.
Dragonscale Boon has that sweet untap effect, so you you could always add in similar effects like Vitalize/Mobilize, Stony Strength/Burst of Strength, Synchronized Strike or Instill Energy to really take advantage of Thriss' effect and those similar to it.

Stuff that seems underwhelming here: Blossom Dryad, Dragonscale Boon, Erosion, Garenbrig Paladin, Gift of Strength, Nyxborn Colossus, Oko, the Trickster, Reduce in Stature, Sauroform Hybrid, Stony Strength, Tall as a Beanstalk, Wavebreak Hippocamp, World Shaper
Cheap all-stars: Cold-Eyed Selkie, Eel Umbra, Inspiring Call, Molting Skin, Octopus Umbra, Rancor, Simic Ascendancy, Snake Umbra, Spider Umbra, Thirst for Meaning

hullos and kamarupa, I love the suggestions.
This is the first deck I ever built dating back to the 2015 prerelease. It's evolved a ton since then, clearly, with all the cards from later sets in it. That's kinda why the cards are so seemingly random. I haven't purchased cards for this deck yet. Everything I have was either pulled or traded for.
There's currently 69 cards because to be honest, I really struggle with deciding what to remove to meet 60 cards. I feel like they are all pretty good and serve a distinct purpose in the deck.
I definitely want those lands. I don't really like Fertile Thicket either. Probably remove the Selesnya Guildgate s because they're too slow too, huh? I like Oran-Rief, the Vastwood , Sunpetal Grove , and Temple of Plenty . I love the combo of Canopy Vista + Windswept Heath , but that seems like a lot of money for land, although I might justify it if I could see it's worth. What are the most important things I'm looking for when choosing land?
The Wanderer , Suspension Field , Wanderer's Strike , Hunt the Weak , and Prison Realm all help with protecting from creatures that I otherwise wouldn't be able to deal with, and Dragonscale Boon and Stony Strength surprise my opponent when they're attacking or try to mess with tapped creatures. What I really need are a couple cards that exile permanents rather than creatures, though. I have a couple of Generous Gift s in another deck that I could pull out and put into here.
I could see cutting The Wanderer , Retreat to Kazandu , New Horizons , and a lot of the kind of piddly creatures that are just there to get beefed or beef others.
If I cut The Wanderer , all instants, sorceries, and enchantments and dropped down to 24 creatures, I could have space for 8 cards if I kept 23 lands. What do you think the best would be the best 8 cards to have? Right now I'm thinking: 2x Generous Gift , Bow of Nylea , Nissa, Voice of Zendikar , 2x Blessed Alliance , Oblivion Ring , maybe Hardened Scales (how bad is it really if you play it first turn, considering all I would have to play other than that would be a hexdrinker, and it benefits massively from it if I can beef him before he gets protection from everything?) or Harvest Season ? (but that wouldn't that only be good with some landfall stuff or Vinelasher Kudzu , like you had said?)
Would that provide me with enough board removal to be consistently successful?

I like what I see so far. The land count seems right. I see many staples that I'd like to see. I'd like to see Path of Ancestry, Darksteel Pendant, Reclaim, Entourage of Trest, Mutant's Prey, Hunt the Weak, the two green cycle lands, Explorer's Scope, Village Elder, Crown-Hunter Hireling.
To make room I would look at the following to take out: Sizzle, Welder Automaton, Wrap in Vigor, Withstand Death, Blinding Fog, Jolrael's Favor, Nature's Panoply, Might Beyond Reason, Saddleback Lagac, Dragonscale Boon.
It's always nice to see new faces in our community :) Welcome!

If i go the +1/+1 counter theme that means i could use Primeval Bounty. Some cards I found are Bond Beetle, Dragonscale Boon, Travel Preparations, and Timberland Guide

I would recommend cards like Centaur Battlemaster and Staunch-Hearted Warrior plus some buff cards like Dragonscale Boon or Incremental Growth. Basically, you should add green

Hi Croc,
some quick suggestions for your brew. your mana curve looks pretty agressive but it looks like you're vulnerable to boardwipes. here are some quick recommendaitons.
Impulse > Contingency PlanArcane Denial > Clash of Wills
Fact or Fiction > Learn from the Past
Swan Song or Dream Fracture > Cancel
if you really want to go in on the counters mechanic, Inexorable Tide is decent. then you could consider running Astral Cornucopia or Everflowing Chalice.
Swiftfoot Boots > Banshee's Bladegeneral recommendations - unless you're going voltron, some of your cards look only great in a 1v1 format. such as Battlegrowth, Burst of Strength, Dragonscale Boon, Slip Through Space.
it looks like you want to go wide with creatures - you may consider some buffs like Overwhelming Stampede and Triumph of the Hordes.
finally some goodstuff recomendations including Stunt Double that are hopefully affordable enough for you: the three R's are Really important:
Ramp: Cultivate, Kodama's Reach > Sakura-Tribe Elder, Wild Growth.
Recursion: Archaeomancer, Greenwarden of Murasa.
Removal: Beast Within, Rapid Hybridization, Reality Shift, Reclamation Sage.
