Commander / EDH Goodstuff Stax Tokens Voltron WU (Azorius)

VERSION 3.1 UPDATE Cards Added: Path to Exile | Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite | Chrome Mox Cards Cut: Azorius Charm | Aegis Angel | Worn Powerstone

This is my third draft at a Geist of Saint Traft Stax deck. This initially started as an aggro Voltron build, but the more I playtested the deck, the more I realized that shutting down the board was a much more effective route.

The go-to combo is Helm of the Host + Rite of Replication . You equip Helm of the Host to a creature, make a token on combat, and then make five copies of the equipped creature by using Rite of Replication to target the non-Legendary token made with Helm of the Host.

The beauty of this combo is that it works with a variety of different creatures. Use this combo on Geist of Saint Traft if you want to go aggro, use Grand Arbiter Augustin IV to nearly lock opponents out of the game via spell cost, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite to give you a nearly invincible army and to wipe opponents boards.

Now obviously this combo is kinda cool, but it involves a lot of mana, as casting and equipping Helm of the Host requires nine mana and casting Rite of Replication for its kicker cost is also nine mana. So to get to that combo you do your usual Azorius control things: stall, draw cards, and counter any big threats.

This deck has a fair amount of answers for different types of decks and threats you'll encounter. From spot removal ( Path to Exile , Reality Shift , Return to Dust , Swords to Plowshares ), to creature wipes ( Supreme Verdict , Wrath of God , Settle the Wreckage ) to complete board wipes ( Cyclonic Rift ).

I try not to run too many counters in the deck, but I want the counters I run to be worth their cost. Cryptic Command let's you either gain card advantage or bounce a permanent in addition to the counter. Pact of Negation is costly, but can be a complete game saver. Render Silent can essentially end a player's turn.

This deck is only in its second draft, so I'm still working on making it more consistent. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
