Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer is the commander that most excited me from Commander 2018. This deck is artifact-focused, and the idea is to build up an army of small tokens and then turn them into something powerful when Brudiclad is on the field.

This deck has been very efficient at making tokens, especially thopters, Creature cards such as Sai, Master Thopterist, Whirler Rogue, Sharding Sphinx, Myr Battlesphere, and Hangarback Walker along with Saheeli, the Gifted are great token generators and threats on their own. Sharding Sphinx in particular has been a real MVP of this deck. However, we do want noncreature sources of token generation in case the board gets wiped (and it will), so enchantments such as Efficient Construction and Thopter Spy Network, and artifacts like Myr Turbine, Nuisance Engine, Trading Post, and Retrofitter Foundry allow us to rebuild and generate constant value. The artifacts really shine with Unwinding Clock and a mana rock or two.

The tokens on their own can be powerful with cards such as Coat of Arms or Eldrazi Monument on the field. However, we really want to convert these small tokens into copies of big value creatures. This is achieved with cards like Cackling Counterpart, Helm of the Host, Saheeli's Artistry, Mirrorworks to copy an artifact creature as it comes into play, and Splinter Twin, which is always powerful (though I do not run the combo pieces with her, but you could). In addition, Faerie Artisans can generate tokens from our opponent's side, Feldon of the Third Path can recur creatures from our graveyard as tokens, and the always versatile Rite of Replication and Mimic Vat can lead to some busted turns by themselves. We also have a few creatures, such as Stitcher Geralf, Reef Worm, and Wurmcoil Engine that can make good value tokens worth copying with Brudiclad.

The deck has been great at generating mana, through Unwinding Clock and mana rocks, as well as flipping Storm the Vault. Saheeli, the Gifted is amazing, with her second +1 ability discounting the next spell you cast by the number of artifacts you control. Even if she only sticks around for a turn or two, she generates a ton of value.

The end goal is to use these spells to copy a high value creature and swing in for lethal. Often the creatures we get are too numerous to block, are flying, or so large that we can win the game in one or two combat steps. We do have a few other wincons in our deck, such as Hellkite Tyrant and Mechanized Production if we can pull them off. In addition, Brudiclad and a token of Combat Celebrant can generate infinite combat steps to punch through defenders and win the game.

Notable exclusions: Spell Swindle seems like a great card, but this deck is proactive and holding up 5 mana for a counterspell is very situational and we do not lack for token generators. Brass's Bounty is a popular card in Brudiclad decks, but I want my 7 CMC cards to do more to the board state when they come down, and your commander has to be out for this to be busted, so it seems like a win-more card to me.

This deck has been a lot of fun so far, and can be built in a number of different ways. I would highly recommend it, and welcome any comments or suggestions.
