About me: I'm the combo player in my meta and after a discussion about how some combo decks feel like playing solitaire, I decided I wanted to build a Timmy deck. Something big and green and stompy.

I settled on Zaxara after stumbling over Jeremy's epic win in the Star City Games season and immediately fell in love with the concept.

My build: I want to run the alternate win-cons (Hey, I'm still a combo player) like Simic Ascendancy , Torment of Hailfire , Villainous Wealth , and Mind Grind , build in some recursion with Eternal Witness , Archeomancer, and Muldrotha, the Gravetide . In the meantime, I want to smash some face with some big Hydras (and maybe flying sharks). I'm deliberately not including Pemmin's Aura and Freed from the Real to avoid infinite combos, it feels waaaay too much like solitaire when they land in my hand.

My problems: Between creatures, support, win-cons, evasion, removal, and ramp.... it all feels like its spread too thin. I feel like I'm dipping my toes into too many strategies and not committing to one in particular. Also, as a first-time Simic driver, I feel like I'm poorly managing the threats I put on the board, so I'm not sure how to react: Adjust my play strategy or add some protective support like Darksteel Plate or Heroic Intervention or lean into ramp some more.
