Rule Zero breakdown: "This deck uses Kelsien to get experience points and eventually win through commander damage."

This is all very true. Saying this at the beginning of the game also draws attention (and removal) to Kelsien. So, while the deck is "Kelsien won't die", its also "Kelsien won't stay dead" - twin strategies that ensure the deck can pull through soaking archenemy level hate. Kelsien won't die because he has lots of protection: Giver and Mother of Runes tap to invalidate targeted hate and sit around threatening to tap otherwise. Kelsien won't stay dead since a thirteen-piece recursion package insures some possibilities of recurring Kelsien (or an artifact copy, or zombie copy, or vampire copy...) out of the graveyard at nearly any point in the game.

The deck is designed to be "Fair" - no poison counters, no infinite combos, infinite mana or library draw. It is also designed to draw hate; if Kelsien isn't focused down, he rapidly gains the ability to win the game with few other cards required.
