First of all, I love your deck choices!

But I believe that Ancient Gold Dragon would be a very good card to add even if he doesn't have haste. First of all he’s a 7/10 good blocker for the turn he comes in unlike Ancient Copper Dragon (6/5) but I understand that it’s slow if you don’t have a way to give him haste. Love Copper Dragon treasures thought <3

Imagine having Dragon Tempest /Scourge of Valkas /Terror of the Peaks out when up to 20 x blue faerie dragons enters the battlefield. The amount of damage each trigger would do.

Also very good with all attack triggers or other cool dragons you have in the deck (Dromoka, the Eternal, Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury, Old Gnawbone, Silumgar, the Drifting Death,Utvara Hellkite, Wrathful Red Dragon, Defiant Thundermaw  ^Flip).

You could also potentially draw up to 20 cards if Kindred Discovery or Greater Good is on the battlefield. Puts a good number of counters on Dragon's Hoard also.

I’d love to hear your opinion on why you didn’t include him in your list with all the good synergies!

I think I would probably have to switch Balefire Dragon for Ancient Gold Dragon. Most big problematic creatures have more than 6 toughness so Balefire doesn’t get rid of them it’s only good against Tokens stacking strategies early on. I’d rather get many blockers each turn recurring and like explained you only need 1 of those 3 pieces (Dragon Tempest/Scourge of Valkas/Terror of the Peaks) to do almost the same effect as Balefire but targeting anything.

You're welcome, friend! I've actually managed to find more than a few ways to keep the energy-flow going in my own Aurelia deck, to fuel not just Aggravated Assault, but also promote spell-casting in both the pre- and post combat main phases. This I did by adding lots of mana/treasure-generation capacity that depends on my attacks and the damage I deal (with cards like Ancient Copper Dragon, Neheb, the Eternal, Sword of Feast and Famine and The Reaver Cleaver). Thanks for making a good point about Lightning Greaves by the way; now I'm reconsidering it myself.

Because of all the creatures that like attacking, I recommend Aggravated Assault. You have some effects in here that can even "go infinite" with it (Old Gnawbone and Ancient Copper Dragon being the main ones).

Profet93 You would think I would need to add more mana rocks, but honestly it has not been much of a problem getting The Ur-Dragon in to the battlefield. Ancient Copper Dragon, Cavern-Hoard Dragon, Decadent Dragon, Goldspan Dragon, Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient, Morophon, the Boundless, Old Gnawbone, Rivaz of the Claw and Sarkhan, Soul Aflame all work very well as mana ramp in this deck.

ted1 - I like the decklist and the concept! Looks like you are running a decent amount of ramp and flicker with the hope of generating lots of dragon copies/tokens via effects from Miirym, Sentinel Worm, Panharmonicon, etc...

If I may ask some questions and/or provide some thoughts...I am surprised things like Dragon Tempest, Terror of the Peaks, and Ancient Silver Dragon were omitted. Dragon Tempest and Terror of the Peaks are just like Scourge of Valkas and fill a similar roll. If you can get out lots of dragons, Dragon Tempest and Scourge of Valkas are superior but Terror of the Peaks is basically targeted removal when you only can get out a few dragons before another board wipe.

Ancient Silver Dragon I feel like you would need in this deck as it allows no maximum hand size. Given the amount of draw this deck has with things like Elemental Bond and Kindred Discovery, having some stuff like that would be crucial...

I am a little surprised to see Goldspan Dragon. You are only running three dragons with treasure synergy with Ganax, Astral Hunter and Ancient Copper Dragon obviously having some serious treasure production ability in this deck. Just feels like this inclusion with the hope of getting it out with one of those two is low and you could do better by adding a dragon with a different role.

Personally, whenever I run a creature heavy deck, I always include two things: 1. protection for my boardstate and 2. something to bring back my creatures after a boardwipe. Nothing is worse than having your deck explode onto the field and then a Wrath of God get dropped and you blew your load early and have no way to really recover. I would encourage you to try to find some form of both of these and include it such as Deflecting Swat, plus it has a dragon for flair!!!

Lastly, Gratuitous Violence outclassed by Fiery Emancipation...plus it has some dragon flair with the fire :)

Hey man! Good to hear from you, nice job refining this list so far!

Yeah, Avacyn, Angel of Hope is stupid expensive lol, she probably always will be just because of how awesome she is. Proxy it in the meantime? Hell, I'd proxy an Ancient Copper Dragon too, they both win games.

Concerning Burning-Rune Demon: This card tends to get cut from a lot of decks that aren't running winning lines for it. Personally, my Kaalia of the Vast list also includes Dockside Extortionist, Corpse Dance & Disciple of the Vault, which enables Burning-Rune Demon to grab Razaketh, the Foulblooded & Reanimate to enable either a same-turn win or a next-turn win by generating infinite Treasures (and infinite Life via Children of Korlis) and nuking the board. It's also really good in Reanimator lists that are running the aforementioned pieces, as well as cards like Animate Dead, Necromancy, Buried Alive, Victimize & Karmic Guide to accelerate sheer board value if you don't want to run combos like that. If you apply it creatively, it essentially acts as an uncounterable {B} Intuition in the deck, but for no mana cost & at Sorcery speed. Not the worst...

Concerning catching Ws: the #1 thing that's going to snag you wins here is making sure that you capitalize on the Commander's value as quickly as possible, as well as making sure that your deck doesn't necessarily need it's Commander on the field to dominate. You need more ramp and card draw, simply. I'd add the following ASAP:

Ramp: Culling the Weak, Dark Ritual, Burnt Offering, Cabal Ritual, Pyretic Ritual, Desperate Ritual, Seething Song, Talisman of Indulgence, Talisman of Hierarchy, Talisman of Conviction, Fellwar Stone Lotho, Corrupt Shirriff, & Deep Gnome Terramancer

Draw/Tutors: Archivist of Oghma, Moon-Blessed Cleric, Tectonic Reformation, Diabolic Intent, Gamble, Grim Tutor, Idyllic Tutor, Steelshaper's Gift & Sarkhan's Triumph.

Also, I know you've stated that you are trying to stay withing certain budget constraints, but Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor & Enlightened Tutor have seen recent reprints, and are cheaper right now than they will be in the future. Just something to consider.

Ancient Copper Dragon is pricey but very worth it in this mono red deck. Tyrant of Kher Ridges is also good and helps win with its onboard activated ability. Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Extraplanar Lens, and Caged Sun are excellent mono color mana enablers, although I'd recommend using Snow-Covered Mountains if you run Extraplanar Lens so that you're less likely to give opponents extra mana.

For instants, Deflecting Swat is another pricey but strong protection spell (or control to intervene in feuds between opponents).

Someday I'll make a Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm deck...I love dragons so much...

Some thoughts:

• Neither Ancient Copper Dragon nor Seething Song are Modern legal.

• Your mana curve is waaay too high, and i don’t think your limited treasure-production or cost-reducers come close to justifying it. Decks typically can’t run more than 4 cards costing 4-or-more mana without becoming extremely slow and clumsy… you’ve got a whopping 24 cards in this mana range, which makes this deck feel unplayable.

• 20 lands is super low even for a deck with a medium/standard mana curve. Even after you drastically lower your mana curve, i suspect you’ll still need to go up to 23-24ish lands minimum.
