Thrasios was a mistake.

This deck was designed to play at mid-power tables. As such, I'm not running Crypt, any Moxen, or any free counterspells. This deck is still powerful and consistent, but it spends most of its time waiting for other players to do things.

This deck is either at the top of mid- or bottom of high-power. That's a pretty blurry line.

Like many reactive control decks, the typical turn involves little more than drawing a card, playing a land, and passing. I spend my mana interacting with the board at instant speed rather than playing proactively, though it can also make some impressive proactive plays. Alchemist's Refuge and Seedborn Muse are excellent enablers of proactive plays without impacting my ability to also be reactive.

Ishai is mainly here for color, but it's also a very threatening creature that has to be dealt with ASAP.

The deck makes a lot of mana thanks to Thrasios's ability to put lands into play, Nyxbloom Ancient and copiers, Mana Reflection, and Kinnan + Basalt Monolith. Helix Pinnacle is really more of a meme here since I rarely play it, but it and Nyxbloom are why I built the deck in the first place, so it's staying even if it's subpar.
