This Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest deck started out as a budget deck less than $85 with a forest floor kind of infect/Golgari creature feature. Since then, I have realized the importance of the Mazirek, Puppeteer Clique, and Ashnod's Altar infinite combo. Thus, this deck has been transforming to revolve entirely around the combo.

Ideally three lands, some form of ramp, a tutor, and one or two pieces of the combo are in opening hand. A sac outlet ( Viscera Seer, Ashnod's Altar, Altar of Dementia, Bloodthrone Vampire, etc. ), a persist creature ( Wingrattle Scarecrow, Puppeteer Clique, Rendclaw Trow, Woodfall Primus, etc. ), Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, and a WinCon ( Blood Artist, Triskelion, Zulaport Cutthroat, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, etc. ) are required in order to win a game. In a less-than-ideal situation without a wincon card, it is also possible to try and deal a buttload of commander damage with Mazirek, instead.

Uninterrupted wins consistently occur from turns 4-8, with turn 5 finishing most often. Of course, target removal exists, so it is also present in this deck in order to combat opponents trying to remove your stuff or finish out the game before you. Because of this, it's good to have some form of protection, such as Heroic Intervention or Lightning Greaves with cards like Putrefy and Decree of Pain as backup.
