This is my actual deck I use in-store, and more of an azorius splash black than esper, but the argument could be made either way. Based around top deck manipulation and some ETB effects, Aminatou is not as crucial to this deck as some other EDH decks can rely on their commander, and is fairly scattered. I prefer this style of gameplay for several reasons. I feel vulnerable when using a deck that needs my commander. Aminatou makes this deck work really well, but is not necessary. Part of the reason is the fact that it is so scattered. Not even I'm entirely sure what my goal is every game, except to stall and build up. This deck relies somewhat on politics to stay alive long enough to really do well, and stays out of the fray for a bit, letting the others wear each other out, before attacking. I wouldn't recommend using this deck if you have just started playing magic, as most combos and winning moves require extensive knowledge of the cards in the deck and their function. Some of my favorite cards/combos are Loyal Unicorn, debatably the best card for any white commander deck, Archetype of Imagination after army of the damned or Serra Avatar, and cheating nearly any card using Yennet, Cryptic Sovereign. Although very similar to the pre-made deck for Aminatou, every couple of weeks or so I will update it with a new card or two, always directly reflecting my deck.
