Primordial Mist

Enchantment

At the beginning of your end step, you may manifest the top card of your library. (Put it onto the battlefield face down as a 2/2 creature. Turn it face up at any time for its mana cost if it's a creature card.)

Exile a face-down permanent you control face up: You may play that card this turn. (You still pay its costs. Timing rules still apply.)

Is Lotus Cobra something you could consider for early game ramp paired with Yedora, Grave Gardener Combo power? Could be a cute idea, I thought about it and it is kinda just win-more with the stuff your already doing.

Elven Chorus Seems good, its a solid card for when you board ends up super wide and also pairs well with Lightning Greaves

Primordial Mist Gets mentioned in your archives a bit. Maybe it does not align with the decks goals perfectly. Personally I think it could be too good to look past. 1. Passive value just by existing on the board 2. Mana sink options (With CMDR, and the Beast Whisperer draw doodads The card also can combo off with the right amount of cost-reduction and in general creates a lot of value. I realize this list does its thing in a pretty streamlined manor and probably benefits from staying on task. Final argument: Mists feels good on an empty board or a full one, it can do sneaky back end things like offering a way protect morphs if you have flash available.

It may also be worth noting that while Ugin, the Ineffable is expensive at 6 mana it makes your rocks and combo pieces cheaper and offers some removal and a body.

I LOVE what you have done with the deck btw.

Heyo happy to chime in! +1 m8

-allThreaten effects in favor of payoffs like Mob Rule, etc... or sticks like Big Game Hunter, Evil Twin, etc. Once you hit any of these you'll be doing the same thing (from your opponents' POV): soft-locking the board.

-1 Primordial Mist

+1 Sultai Emissary

+6-10 Dusk Legion Zealot, draw, ETC ...I feel like these are MVP and lend to an aristocrats style.

-1 Curse of Stalked Prey... too conditional in the late game

-1 Captivating Crew... too much mana

+1 Vigean Graftmage, or anything that can put counters on Marchesa

+1 Plaguecrafter, etc... these are oppressive engines

With a lot more draw + lower cmc removal/ removal-sticks this will slap!

The more I think about Endless Whispers the more utility I find. Having it on board is protection for Phage as anyone who would remove her (outside of exile effects) can be threatened with instantly losing the game. This provides protection from most boardwipes which the rest of the deck can't provide. It makes even an unequipped Phage a valuable attacker against players who don't have a mob of tokens as they must block a deathtouch creature and if they kill Phage in the process, game over over for someone and you get Phage back. As kpres said in the case that Phage is manifested this provides a very easy way to off a player early, get Phage on the board early, and start being aggressive.

Definitely cutting Beastmaster Ascension to lean into the Phage synergies. Next up is considering what to cut for a sac outlet to end the game with Phage and Endless Whispers. Another thing to consider is whether or not to include another manifest source ( Primordial Mist for example) to lean into the above synergy.

Also, if someone knows what happens when a transformed Westvale Abbey  Flip or Elbrus, the Binding Blade  Flip goes to the graveyard with Endless Whispers in play I would love to know. Thank you to everybody for all the advice to a new commander player.

kpres - Pretty devilish, I think that's worth strong consideration for including in the deck, potentially with Primordial Mist as was suggested earlier. My only worry about it is that it nukes one opponent and if they're not the last one you have to find a separate win condition for the others. Another thing is I'm not sure where I would make room for it. Gonna think about this one for a while

Neotrup on Is there an infinite combo …

This works. From the gatherer rulings for Primordial Mist:

7/13/2018 You'll still pay all costs for a spell cast this way, including additional costs. You may also pay alternative costs such as evoke costs.

Since Morph is an alternate cost, it would apply here, and still be discounted by Animar, Soul of Elements. As a note, it will be exiled face up, so your opponents will know that it's an Echo Tracer.

If I have Animar, Soul of Elements with 3 +1/+1 counters, Primordial Mist, and a face down Echo Tracer all in play, can I use primordial mist's activated ability to exile echo tracer, play echo tracer face down, rinse and repeat 100 times to give animar +100/+100?

I did not even think about the Vesuvan Brine combo, thank you for mentioning it.

Although I could see the benefits of Voidmage Apprentice, however I never really thought that a counter for 4 mana is any good, unless it adds some good things, like Kheru Spellsnatcher. Although I might reconsider about Voidmage, depending on where I go with the deck.

Write into Being does feel underwhelming to me too, yet I think with Kadena it adds some value (a 2/2 creature and a card draw) as well as using Primordial Mist you can always play the manifest if it isn't a creature.

But thank you for the feedback DankMagicianD

MtgHarmacist on Ain’t Scared of No Morph… ahhhhh

So my next cuts I'm thinking our as follows: Alchemist's Refuge for Myriad Landscape

Tomb of the Spirit Dragon for Ash Barrens

Mistfire Weaver for Beast Whisperer as protection for Seedborne TEferi and Kadena

Primordial Mist for Icefeather Aven
