Requirements

Hippo Storm, Method 1

The benefit of this is that it not only gives you damn-near limitless green mana and life, but it also lets the table draw a bunch of cards so they experience the FeelGoods that Group Hugs are known for. The card-drawing here also lets you draw into The Great Aurora if you didn't already have it.

  • 1 - Have the required items for Method 1 in play (detailed above, under Requirements).
  • 2 - Activate Selvala, Explorer Returned.
  • 3 - Get 0~4 green mana, gain your life, let everyone draw cards with Selvala's ability.
  • 4 - Update your dice to reflect your current mana pool.
  • 5 - Activate the Phelddagrif's G ability, give someone a hippo token.
  • 7 - Hippo token triggers Intruder Alarm. Resolve trigger, untap all creatures.
  • 8 - If each opponent has 100 hippo tokens, go to step 9. Otherwise, go to step 2.
  • 9 - Cast The Great Aurora (i.e. Hippo Storm).
  • 10 - Each opponent draws themselves to death.

Requirements

This method requires that you have The Great Aurora in hand already, or be able to tutor it up, by the time you're ready to kill. There aren't as many FeelGoods here, but it's cleaner/faster because it doesn't require you to interact with opponents looking at the top card of their library.

  • 1 - Have the required items for Method 2 in play (detailed above, under Requirements).
  • 2 - Activate Questing Phelddagrif's G ability.
  • 3 - Give someone a hippo token, give Phelddagrif for +1/+1.
  • 3 - Activate Selvala, Heart of the Wilds. You gain 5 green mana.
  • 4 - Update your dice to reflect your current mana pool.
  • 5 - Spend 3 mana to untap Selvala with Umbral Mantle.
  • 6 - Spend 1 mana to activate Selvala again. Hold priority.
  • 7 - Sink any leftover green mana into Questing Phelddagrif to make more tokens.
  • 8 - If each opponent has 100 hippo tokens, go to step 9. Otherwise, go to step 2.
  • 9 - Cast The Great Aurora (i.e. Hippo Storm).
  • 10 - Each opponent draws themselves to death.

Requirements

You effectively lock everyone out of casting noncreature spells. Any doves they'd get from Dovescape get exiled by Portcullis. No new creatures can enter the battlefield because of Portcullis, so the only two creatures that are going to be on the table are Phelddagrif and either a 1/1 token you give someone, or Guile, who will allow you to cast noncreature spells to help accelerate your win if you so desire.
