Talrand is here to counter spells, bounce stuff, make drakes, and chew bubblegum - and he is all out of bubblegum...

As for improvements, I'm not sure about Stifle and the amount of counterspells in the deck because they represent inherent card disadvantage in a multiplayer game. I also consider running less lands, down to 37. Finally, although Talrand focuses on instants and sorceries I would also like some card advantage in permant form, in case I am forced to discard my hand.
