Also, since black doesn't have the same potential as red for burn, maybe play more cards like Geth's Verdict that helps you controlling the board but also make the opponent keep losing life. Smallpox could help with that, and can also trigger madness effects like Alms of the Vein. Maybe Burden of Greed and Circle of Affliction for sideboard.

alright, so I did some more digging - I've been kicking around a similar deck idea for a while. here's some of the stuff you might be interested in:

Pain for everyone:

Citadel of Pain, Copper Tablet, Power Surge (read the errata for this one, it makes more sense, Shadows of the Past, Pyrohemia, Pestilence, Dark Suspicions (or Bulwark, depending. kinda mutually exclusive), Rivalry, Skullcage, Wheel of Torture, Iron Maiden and Circle of Affliction

No creatures for You!

Death Pits of Rath (which couples well with Pyrohemia and Pestilence from earlier), along with Circle of Flame, Heat Stroke, Magmatic Core, Mudslide, Wave of Terror, War's Toll, Storage Matrix, and Noetic Scales.

Punishment and protection

Pia's Revolution, War's Toll, Bitter Feud (kinda a furnace of wrath - but only for those two against each other), Defense Grid.

probably some stuff in here you considered already, just figured I'd sift through this stuff and see if anything was to your liking

Some thoughts:

1. This deck wants Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, possibly also Crypt of Agadeem and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx.

2. Sorin Markov is a better fit than Sorin, Grim Nemesis.

3. Hero's Downfall or Victim of Night are better removal than Murder.

4. Card draw Night's Whisper, Read the Bones, Dusk Urchins or Scarscale Ritual would work, though Phyrexian Arena is the classic.

5. Some disruption Smallpox, Dash Hopes and of course Duress or Inquisition of Kozilek.

6. Plain straight card suggestion; if you don't wan't to use extort itself Zulaport Cutthroat and Blood Artist are taxing effects. Circle of Affliction is like extort but on an enchantment and Smolder Initiate is useful when playing against black.

Lastly, consistency. By this I mean your deck has a lot of variance due to the fact you don't have 4x of the cards you cast. Your mana curve is off, too many 3 drops, not enough value from your higher cost cards (4+ cmc) and not enough land.

it actually looks great Circle of Affliction is pretty awesome I'm not sure what you would take out to sub it for, plus you'd need something like Skybind to bounce it around. Dictate of Erebos seems a little out of place since this isn't sack mill in any way, even though it is a great way to keep people from hating on you too much Exquisite Blood Sanguine Bond in conjunction with Tainted Remedy is pretty broken, seems like a good fit. there's a lot of destroy target creature cards, maybe try to exile a little more, maybe even put in a Deicide because god cards are pretty prevalent. because it gets around indestructible effects cards like, Curse of the Cabal or even better Utter End I like the deck the way it is in many respects so nice job either way! :)

I like the idea behind this deck- It wouldn't work in my current metagame, but here are my suggestions- A playset of Terramorphic Expanse, Evolving Wilds, Esper Panorama and Arcane Sanctum- it worked well enough in the alara block to stabilize my manabase so it should work here, and be cheap.You may also want to look atBlind Obedience, Ghostly Prison, Sanctimony Boon Reflection Hissing Miasma, Luminarch Ascension, Nyx-Fleece Ram, Phyrexian Arena Sunspring Expedition, Underworld Connections, Angelic Accord and Circle of Affliction.Have fun, and good luck with the brew!

I don't think you need a full set of both Unholy Strength and Predator's Gambit - especially not with Gnarled Scarhide around! I suggest getting some more non-creature ways of hurting your opponent - Circle of Affliction or Palace Siege could work.

Also, Daxos's Torment can kill people fast.

Me too.

Yeah I was saying that if I had 2 Circle of Affliction out the ability would trigger 2x for the 1 bolt, but that is only if I'm lucky and draw that many.

Tempo is another concern I have. Both of these spells aren't the best plays on T2 or T3 for this deck if your goal is to keep the board clear. Which pushes them out to T4 or T5. Almost wondering if I should look for more kill spells to fill the 3 slots.
