Out: Tectonic Split, Need for Speed, Nahiri's Lithoforming, Lotus Field, Toph the First Metalbender, Rootpath Purifier Haven't enjoyed having Lotus Field or Tectonic Split in hand. They feel very clunky and hard to play. Toph the First Metalbender isnt as impactful as the other earthbend cards so its being sidelined for now. Haven't played Rootpath Purifier and Nahiri's Lithoforming yet but I feel like other cards will have more impact. In: Chaos Warp, Embrace the Unknown, Life from the Loam, Lovisa Coldeyes, Oracle of Mul Daya, Stroke of Midnight Chaos Warp and Stroke of Midnight are in cause the deck is too removal lite. Embrace the unknown for some repeatable draw and land sacrifice. Oracle of Mul Daya for more lands per turn. Life from the Loam for synergy with my land tutors and non desert recursion. Lovisa for combat power

Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord to replace Mindcrank
---- You're already not running Bloodchief Ascension or any of the other typical 2-card combos in color (ex. Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood), so it's a powerful piece without it's partner(s). Beavis without Butthead, if you would. Sorin has multiple ways to contribute to your vampire centric game plan, including being able to cheat a vampire from hand into play with his -3.
Henrika Domnathi to replace Bloodgift Demon
---- Cheaper card, options for what you need over 3 turns. In tribe + good beater.
Florian, Voldaren Scion to replace Taurean Mauler
---- Effective card draw/selection on a solid body with first strike.
Voldaren Estate to replace Path of Ancestry
Haunted Ridge to replace Exotic Orchard
Bleachbone Verge to replace Orzhov Basilica
Blazemire Verge to replace Rugged Prairie
Sunbillow Verge to replace Boros Garrison
Arcane Signet to replace Worn Powerstone
---- Faster mana/color fixing that doesn't require you to take a turn off. The deck is hungry for colors.
NIghthawk Scavenger to replace Vampire Nighthawk
---- Strict upgrade that can be bigger.
Ruthless Lawbringer to replace Vindicate
---- Similar removal at sorcery speed (minus the ability to hit a land). You get a vampire for the effort that's decently statted. Sac a token, and Edgar's ability will have you getting a token to replace it. It's almost a 1:1.
Midnight Arsonist to replace Olivia, Mobilized for War
---- Blow out potential for non-mana rocks vs an expensive way to grant haste to one of your creatures. She's a decent body and rarely much else.
Cordial Vampire to replace Mirror Entity
---- Naturally going to grow your army as things die vs needing to sink the mana all at once.
Redemption Choir to replace Bishop of Rebirth
---- Very likely to always have Coven to trigger the reanimation. You get it on a body that reanimates on ETB and attack, for 1 mana less, vs only on attack. It's also a permanent with cmc3 or less and not just a creature.
Dusk Legion Sergeant to replace Yahenni, Undying Partisan
---- Cheaper to cast and has the potential to blank a boardwipe by sacrificing it if you have the mana up. Yahenni can only save itself.
Markov Baron to replace Legion Lieutenant
---- Likely to be free or cheaper with tapping creatures for Convoke, also has lifelink. Added benefit of being able to be cast as it's discarded.
Preacher of the Schism to replace Dark Impostor
---- Dark Impostor is a very expensive means of removal, with 9 mana needed to remove the first creature. Preacher just does more of what your deck already wants to do.
Crossway Troublemakers to replace Olivia Voldaren
Additional cards to keep an eye out for:
Bloodletter of Aclazotz to replace ???
---- There's been a ton of great vampires to come out since the deck was made. Olivia's a decent mana sink, but at a rate of 7 mana to steal something, she's pricey. With Bloodletter you're not losing a flying body to block with, and it being a damage multiplier makes for bigger turns.
Charismatic Conqueror to replace Gifted Aetherborn
---- Charismatic Conqueror will generate a TON of value over a game.
Savai Triome to replace Nomad Outpost
---- Incremental upgrade. Allows for it to be discarded to draw when you're desperate. Also counts as all 3 land types for things like Dragonskull Summit to ETB untapped.
Stroke of Midnight to replace Mortify
---- Wider range of targets for the cost of giving them a 1/1 human token
Chronicle of Victory to replace ???
---- Could be a potential deck top-end card to provide a ton of value in a single card.
You'll also have Baron Bertram Graywater available in the bundle of cards being sent over to consider.

Vodalian Hexcatcher to replace Harbinger of the Tides
Dreamroot Cascade to replace Halimar Depths
Rejuvenating Springs to replace Lumbering Falls
Sodden Verdure to replace Yavimaya Coast

Lord of Atlantis could replace Enclave Cryptologist

Week 3, Suggestions from a Theorist
Reuben_Medik, 1 month ago
I went to my local for Commander night and was able to pick up these singles, as well as another one they didn't have last week so I'm glad I checked for it
Triskaidekaphobia replaces Looming Altisaur. It might be a 1/7, but that is all. Trisks ability to just straight up eliminate any players with exactly 13 life is a way better than just a 1/7 that swings for 7/13
If I have Tree of Perdition in play, that just means I can potentially remove someone from play even faster, which is why I added it by removing Hardened Escort. Yeah, HE would give something else Indestructible when it attacks, but if I have Trisk then I need to add ToP too
Another possible wincon joins the fray in the form of Angel of Destiny! If I have 55 or more health during my end step, any player AoD attacked that turn losses. I don't even need it to deal damage, it just needs to attack! Since it does so much and Maned Serval does so little, I exchanged the two
Finally, Arbor Adherant is a mana dork that has great potential in this deck. I'm glad I could pick it up. Mammoth Spider is a 3/5 with reach, and it is basically a more expensive copy of Sporeweb Weaver with slightly better p/t, but without the Hexproof or the damage trigger, so MS goes away
I also found myself a The Wind Crystal. Since I've got more White than anything in here, especially considering all the higher cost creatures have W in their cost, it wouldn't be a bad idea to add it in. I honestly don't know what to exchange for it right now, but I'm thinking Indatha Crystal, despite it being my only mana rock
Oh yeah, someone I know said he's got a spare Sovereign Okinec Ahau, so I'll be getting that in a week from now when we meet up next! Not sure what I'll take out of this deck to make space for it, but I've got a week to think on it
Mathemagics coming soon
VeniVidiVorthos, 1 month ago
The card Mathemagics just got spoiled, it's not even on this site yet, but it's already got me excited about a potential new win con for this deck! The magic number is 14, and since that requires getting more lands into play faster, and thus caring about lands, I've went ahead and put two versions of Zimone in the maybeboard to try them out!
Why Didn't Anybody Tell Me Rhys Is Actually Good??
DreadKhan, 1 month ago
So yeah, I get why it doesn't come up, but Rhys is actually a win con if your deck already has TRUE haste enablers (just Tyvar doesn't cut it, and most Sisay lists lean away from full Haste to save cards)... With Emiel I can flicker Rhys and make a 1/1, which can attack if I have Haste, so if I do that a determined but very large number of times that is by itself a win con, though one that requires Emiel AND an attack step, so I will give that it's the worst of all my previously mentioned win cons. It's like I had a brain fart and never realized Rhys makes a 1/1 each time you flicker him (when you have infinite mana), so yeah, I don't think I'll actually pull him, that's QUITE a bit better than good boy K-9! Also, even though Green is a shitty colour to get early, White is pretty sweet, either for a Bloom Tender or Selvala/Sisay.
Edit: I switched out the deeply frustrating (because it's so slow) Farseek and put in the superfast Elvish Spirit Guide! Finally a use for this fancy pants version! Hooray!
Edit: Huh, maybe I should look at Gwenna, Eyes of Gaea? I'd probably switch out Descent Into Avenrus for her; two mana in any combination means the same thing next turn for me, the creature rider is less strict than Redshift, and if you use Sisay to cast her she can sometimes untap herself, netting you an extra 2 mana (3 if you've got Kinnan!)! That seems almost decadent for a card that also works well with Sol Ring! I love that it also works with Ioreth, but it's a non-bo with Freed From the Real, since she can't pay for an Enchantment's ability. Fwiw Descent doesn't care about Freed either, this is Legendary AND offers great fixing, so if Selvala is unavailable I might be able to build around this, even if it takes me an extra turn or two. Oh, and if I have Kinnan out she CAN work with Freed, so it's not a complete incompatibility, it's equal to several other dorks in that specific arena, and I don't look at those negatively for it.
Edit: Don't tell anyone but I noticed I wasn't using Lotus Petal, and if Elvish Spirit Guide is a legit card in here (and I'm certain that it is) then this is also going to be a banger, offering more busted turn 1 and 2 hands that this deck should care so much about. One of these days I'll win turn 2, wait and see! Pulled a Forest, who'll even notice?
Edit: Ooh, maybe Saw in Half? It technically can do an awful lot in here, even protection for a key creature, but mostly it's a huge untap effect for only 2B (and it works with Sol Ring, everyone's favourite card). I pulled Voidrend for it, that card did come in clutch sometimes, but this is a more versatile effect in a deck that highly values that.
Edit: Seedwhat? Bornwho? Surely you mean my good friend who's always been here, Dr. Tithe!
Edit: In went Saheeli Rai, Gwenna, and Abrupt Decay, for Beast Within, Generous Gift, and a Basic Forest. Saheeli seems like a cool card to draw into, offering a limited Haste source that's also a Copy effect, both are welcome, as is the colour pair IMHO. Gwenna is just really good, 2 pips in any comination is really sweet in here, offering perfect fixing on 2 mana and the card works with Sol Ring? People are sleeping on her I tell you! Abrupt is a much better removal effect, I don't often need to hit something that big, and 3 mana is awkward, even if they work with Sol Ring the effect might not be good enough (I feel like this is the kind of list where you're usually better served by just winning anyways, interaction is for worse decks IMHO).
Edit: Pulled a Forest for a Simian Spirit Guide, I feel like this deck cares too much about doing stuff sooner, and 35 is still quite a hefty land total for a Sisay deck in this Bracket.

Bringing this up to Spec
derposaurus, 1 month ago
I have not updated this in a long time, but I recently got back into this game and made some tweaks. The big ones are highlighted here: - Delver of Secrets for Dragon's Fury Channeler - Using Thought Scour and other surveil/discard mechanics to load the graveyard - Expressive Iteration is just too good to ignore - Haughty Djinn subbed in for some Enigma Drake

Playtesting Prismatic Undercurrents over Migration Path
---- It has a similar output as M.Path (provided I have both red and green among my permanents when it resolves), but lets me drop an additional land on my turns. It scales better as games go on, and allows for me to get 2 land drops the turn it resolves, if I'm not already playing one from hand. M.Path is more flexible, and has a guaranteed output, but it's Cycling ability has never been useful - I've never been so desperate for a card as to give up getting 2 landfall triggers.
Hexing Squelcher over Vexing Shusher
---- Better in just about every way, minus the ability to make sure a random opponent's spell doesn't get countered. That cheeky interaction has only come up a handful of times over the life of the deck, and isn't worth the loss of Squelcher's benefits.
Sapling Nursery over Bane of Progress (post massive shift to landfall focus, so it may have been for something else)
---- Landfall giving reach blockers to help shore up weakness vs fliers. Can also come down very cheap given number of forests in the deck.

Utility Slots
NonetheWeisser, 1 month ago
Hey all! It's been a bit. I really have to get around to updating the deck description. This continues to be (arguably) my fastest and most competitive deck in my arsenal. Winning as early as turn 3 is pretty easy. Right now, I am testing Carnage Tyrant and Elder Gargaroth. These are utility creaturss in the event I don't have Tooth and Nail or am trying to buy myself time. We will see how they test.
