A snapshot of our meta. Most of the decks in our meta are in the 6-8 range (focused-optimized/high-powered casual). I think the power level is generally a more competitive casual, but not cEDH, and no one really plays jank.

Game Summary

The game started somewhat casually with most folks playing one land per turn for the first few turns. shotgunning_lean however managed to play a few mana rocks including Sol Ring, which urged tbasim94 to swing at him with a Putrid Goblin while he was defenseless. In retaliation, shotgunning_lean used the mana rocks to cast Zurgo and hit tbasim94 for 7 commander damage.

The board state had now started slowly building up, with danielflores816 casting a few smaller creatures and his Saheeli planeswalker which got a few consistent pings of damage by tbasim94 and mackydizzle69. Mackydizzle69 also cast a few weenies which mutated into something larger and scarier, and more notably, he played Eat to Extinction to destroy Zurgo. tbasim94 had built a steady sac and recursion engine with a few valuable creatures such Yahenni, and with Judith in play along with a Retreat to Hagra, he was able to ping a few creatures for deathtouch damage. shotgunning_lean then played two board wipes, one turn after another, in an attempt to destroy Yahenni, who lived through both wipes by sacking other creatures, including Judith. shotgunning lean also cast Rest In Peace which disrupted the steady recursion cycles that mackydizzle69's and tbasim94's decks had relied on heavily. danielflores816 began targetting tbasim94 in an attempt to stop the looming Yahenni threat, and tbasim94 shifted his focus towards shotgunning lean to destroy him (and subsequently his Rest in Peace).

The players were now at lower life totals (avergaing around 20) due mostly to danielflores816's Impact Tremors. In one game-changing play, mackydizzle69 swung all out at danielflores816 with a now very meaty Otrimi mutation nightmare, and the now almost dead shotgunning lean made one last big move by giving Otrimi lethal double strike at instant speed. The lifelink commander damage, eliminated danielflores816 and restored a decent cushion of life total for Mackydizzle69. Then with no creatures to block a 9/9 Yahenni, tbasim94 swung at shotgunning lean to deal lethal damage.

The game went on about 3 or 4 more turns in the now 1v1 between mackydizzle69 armed with a large mutation Otrimi boi, and tbasim94 with a hard to kill Yahenni.

Mackydizzle69 was using mutation triggers and slowly building a defense of beast tokens, and tbasim94 was using Butcher of Malakir and sac outlets to keep the tokens in check. tbasim94 drew Act of Treason effect cards back to back, stealing and sacking mackydizzle69's larger mutation creature piles, making Otrimi more costly, until mackydizzle69 had only one creature left, which was Act of Treason'ed for lethal damage by tbasim94. GG lads ^-^
