I've been playing on and off for the past 8ish years. I started off primarily playing casual, janky table-top Modern, and have been playing EDH for about 3 years now.

In regards to my play-style, I like to try to balance fun and optimization, even if that means the deck is not an 8/10 or super optimized. I try to aim for "Casual but optimized where applicable".

I incorporate some combo win-cons in my decks where it feels appropriate for the deck's power-level and theme. I don't use many tutors, and enjoy some variance in my play. The idea of always tutoring & playing towards the same combo lines is kind of boring to me. I like knowing the options are there if I wanted to lean into them more.

Any decks visible on my profile are what I'm currently playing in paper. I currently have older decks in the "My Retired Decks" folder.

If you want an idea of my meta check out our page Mages of Magic Meta. Decklists may vary by account, but this is more or less a list of the commanders in the meta, and a hub to our accounts and deck lists.

I will be posting to Tappedout less frequently, and eventually transition to primarily using Moxfield. You can find me here if you're interested.

Thank you KBK7101, I appreciate! I haven't had a chance to play the deck irl yet, but it's ready to go next time my friends and I get together. I could see Immolating Gyre replacing Jaya's Immolating Inferno, especially since it can hit creatures and opponents simultaneously.

I'll be making my next batch of significant updates after getting some games in, and probably once Commander Legends 2 is dropped. Keeping an eye out for any spells from the set that could fit this build.

Sorry for the super late response Coward_Token. Rain of Riches is a cool suggestion. I think it is slightly less vulnerable to removal as Wild-Magic Sorcerer, but is slightly more narrow. Although this deck aims to pump out Treasures, there can be those occasions where I don't have any, so then Rain of Riches just kind of sits there.

I'll keep it in mind if I ever want to add some Cascade or similar effects into the deck.

Thank you for the suggestion knightofzero21. It's kind of funny that I forgot about Corpse Knight, since I used to run it in my Alesha, Who Smiles at Death deck as a combo piece.

I do like Corpse Knight and don't mind the 2 color intensity. In my experience a 2 color 2 drop is about the same level of on-curve play as a 1 color 3 drop. Having played this deck numerous times already, I don't think I've ever felt mana screwed by color balance/fixing.

My current issue is figuring out what slots I want to change up. I haven't played with my friends in about a month. As much as I want to change 1-3 slots to test stuff out, I also kind of want to wait knowing that Commander Legends 2 is somehow already around the corner.

No prob adt630, I'm glad you liked them.

I am not a fan of extra combats for Isshin. I tried them out in my earliest play-testing for the deck but didn't like the extra set up needed to make each creature able to attack each extra combat. I'd rather let people try things out for themselves and see what they like or don't. Extra combats kinda seemed like a trap for this type of deck. If your token swarms are anthemed up enough, then they should be dealing enough damage that extra combats aren't really necessary.

I think on their own the Vigilance anthems are way more helpful to Isshin without the extra combats. Having a token swarm that can stay up against crack backs has helped me stay afloat in games until someone can deal with it.

iammute, Daedalus moved over to Moxfield a few months ago. They've been updating their Araumi deck and primer over there a lot more frequently. You can find the most up to date version here

Thank you for the suggestion Santiago1011, definitely an interesting one. I actually retired/recycled this deck a couple months ago to make my Isshin deck, Musashi's Mosh Pit [Primer].

The last iteration of my Alesha deck was less combat-focused and more focused on stax/control to cover for setting up one of its combo loops. One of my first versions of the deck was more focused on combat with a Menace subtheme. If I ever rebuild Alesha, and make it combat focused, I'll keep your suggestion in mind.
