Akroma, Angel of Wrath (Mono White Voltron)

Commander / EDH* Mono-White

DJSlayer07

Akroma's my all-time favorite Magic card so I decided to build her as a general, which you might think sounds like a terrible idea, but let's try to make it work.

First of all, we want to kill with Akroma herself, not just have her collecting dust in the command zone while we do some dumb mono-white weenie nonsense. So naturally we're going to go with a voltron strategy, which mono-white is good at, so we'll use lots of good equipment and voltron support like Stoneforge Mystic and Nahiri to enable that strategy.

But, Akroma costs roughly a billion mana, so we need as many rocks and ramp as we can cram in. That means Myriad Landscape, Burnished Hart, Solemn Simulacrum, and perhaps most importantly Sword of the Animist, which lucky for us works with all the tron support we've already got going. We also use hatebears to slow our opponents down to our level, giving us time to get all the pieces that we'll need together.

Lastly, because Akroma costs so much, we need to avoid paying the commander tax at all costs, so that means a lot of resurrection effects. To that end we use Resurrection and similar cards like Late to Dinner, Karmic Guide (who can be brought back endlessly with Reveillark), Loyal Retainers, Emeria Shepherd and Emeria, the Sky Ruin, and Bruna, the Fading Light (who triggers on-cast, making it difficult for the effect to be interrupted).

With all of this together, we get Akroma out fast, we make her hit as hard as possible, and we make our strategy difficult to interrupt for our opponents. Lastly, a couple choice wraths, some removal, and a couple white counterspells (which few players will ever see coming) help us stop the opponent from getting too far ahead of us or comboing off.
