Why Play My Deck When I Can Play Yours

Commander / EDH Casual Jank Mono-Blue

When you no longer want to play your own deck, why not play everyone else's? But before we get to the deck, we must first hear the story of our hero; Kaho, Minamo Historian.

Kaho's vast library of books and scrolls and all other forms of the written word no longer suited his fancy. He had read them all an innumerable amount of times that he couldn't stand be in that library any longer for fear of boredom driving him to madness. One day, surrounded by his vast library of well read books, he had an idea.

"What if I just snuck into another library and read all of their books? Surely they must have something new for me to read," he thought to himself.

And that's exactly what he did. No library or book was safe from his all-consuming desire of knowledge and literature. No lock, no gate, no wall, no man could stop him on his eternal quest for omniscience. His thirst for everlasting control of the written word, the Eternal Dominion of knowledge, was the only thing occupying his mind.

Now that the story is over, time for the deck. The downside of casting Eternal Dominion is that we can no longer play other spells. This is of little concern as we just keep getting non-planeswalker permanents from out opponent's libraries. To maximize our Eternal Dominion's potential, there are certain things we can do.

Paradox Haze will give us an extra upkeep, which is when we get to copy Eternal Dominion, thus giving us two copies each turn.

Another thing we can do is copy the Epic trigger when we first cast it with Strionic Resonator. This gives us an extra copy of Eternal Dominion each upkeep. After that, it can be used to possibly copy triggers of the things that we take from our opponent's decks.

Outside of simply copying the Epic trigger, we can also just copy the ad spell, whether before or after we have initially cast it. Cards like Echo Mage; Meletis Charlatan; Mirrorpool; Mischievous Quanar; Sigil Tracer; and Uyo, Silent Prophet allow us to copy the spell before the Epic trigger resolves as well as afterwards. Doing this afterwards gives us repeatable value where as doing it initially will also give us additional Epic triggers, which essentially copies Eternal Dominion every turn from that point forward for each Epic trigger we get.

If this isn't enough for us, their is one last card up our sleeve: Hive Mind. If you really want yup instill some chaos, make sure that nobody gets to play from their libraries and must instead play from everyone else's. This isn't a big problem for us as our library is mostly just there in order to get Kaho on to the board and cast Eternal Dominion as early and as reliably as possible.

The rest of the deck is pretty much just mana rocks and cantrips, so there is little value for our opponents. All decks have cards in them that further their ultimate agendas, our agenda just happens to be cast Eternal Dominion that's it. I hope you all enjoy this deck as much as I do.
