I've always been fascinated with Phage. She's a lethal double-sided sword. But Phage as a general? Challenge accepted.

Let's start with our safeguards to keep Phage's hate directed at the enemy.

The most obvious two Platinum Angel and Torpor Orb are also the easiest to use. She can't kill you if the ability never hits the stack or if you simply cannot lose.

Withering Boon, Dash Hopes and Thrull Wizard : Counter Phage, counter death.

Finally, Sundial of the Infinite is fun to play with, allowing you to effectively exile Phage's "I kill you" ability or prevent threats on your turn.

Tutors: Demonic Tutor, Diabolic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Beseech the Queen, Brainspoil, Cruel Tutor, Dimir Machinations , Shred Memory, Dimir House Guard, Rune-Scarred Demon, and Imperial Seal

Imperial Seal is ridiculously overpriced, so no one should complain about a proxy of it.

Tutor for? For Combos, of course.

The strongest combo in this deck is Rings of Brighthearth on Deserted Temple with Cabal Coffers for infinite black mana if you have atleast 6 swamps. It's best used with Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief, Geth, Lord of the Vault, Exsanguinate, Steel Hellkite, Profane Command, and Nirkana Revenant. With a late game Yawgmoth's Will, it's a lot of fun.

Stall combo: Equip Guardian Beast with Darksteel Plate then drop a Nevinyrral's Disk

Mimic Vat is too much fun. Throw a Rune-Scarred Demon under it for a tutor a turn from a 6/6 beatstick, or a Grave Titan for Zombie chumps. Solemn Simulacrum for land and draw advantage. Or, just steal someone else's annoying creature and turn it against them each turn.

Extra-planar Lens + Snow-Covered Swamp = Exclusive mana doubling
