Mono-Green is pretty powerful in EDH, and the best Commander I could find for the job is Nissa. Yeva was another good option, but the fact that your Commander doubles as a ramp spell means you can free up space in the deck for other utility.

The tradeoff is that the deck can very rarely win with Commander damage, but there are so many other big things that it doesn't impact the win rate too frequently.
