This is the spiritual successor to my old Haakon, Stromgald Scourge EDH deck, with another color added to get him into the graveyard more consistently and with an alternate win condition in Grimgrin, Corpse-Born at the helm. Only sort of a zombie deck.

The initial concept of this deck was born from my dislike for combo decks in EDH. Competitive combo in EDH tries to win the game as fast as possible, in as reliable a way as possible, and loaded with counterspells to force it through. This deck...doesn't do any of those things. If I hated myself and you, this deck would be all about finding Gravecrawler and Phyrexian Altar with a dozen tutors and two dozen counterspells to force through the storm payoffs. But rather than protecting itself or always going for one core combo, it's packed with such a critical mass of combo pieces that at some point, somehow, it has to go off. If Chain Veil Teferi is the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, this is P.T. Barnum's Traveling Circus. With this deck, you don't know how my combos come together because I don't know how my combos come together. If I can't figure it out, Grimgrin can always beat someone to death.
