A commander deck with no noncreature spells.

Being a midrangy deck, the primary design is to ramp up a lot of lands and mana dorks early game, so you can start spitting out 5,6,7... drops sooner than later. Shaman of Forgotten Ways and Somberwald Sage are the allstars of this strategy and can cause you to explode early game.

Always having a creature to play is an objective to this deck, since it doesn't have anything else anyways. To ensure your hand stays relatively full, draw effects like Arcanis the Omnipotent, Edric, Spymaster of Trest, Sages of the Anima, and a few others will keep you topped up.

Alternatively, Surrak Dragonclaw may prevent any and all counterspells, but boardwipes and targeted effects are troublesome. You have a few ways of avoiding a boardwipe. You can protect your best creatures by bouncing them with other creatures like Temur Sabertooth or Quickling. Otherwise, you can prevent a boardwipe all together with Mystic Snake or Venser, Shaper Savant. The penultimate defense to targeted effects is Archetype of Endurance. Other creatures like Void Grafter and Plaxmanta can also protect your creatures from spells.

In the end, the only way you can beat your opponent is to kill them with combat damage. If you can't seem to overwhelm your opponent with purely creatures, you can also pump them up with creatures like Decimator of the Provinces, Boartusk Liege, and Xenagos, God of Revels. You also have some controlly creatures at your disposal to slow your opponent. Void Winnower, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, and Ruric Thar, the Unbowed can slow down or cause trouble for the enemy, allowing you more room to spew creatures onto the battlefield. Shaman of Forgotten Ways's second ability is also a fun way to win.

A good point of criticism is that there are little to no ways to recur creatures in your graveyard. It may be a part of the deck I'll change, but for now, I see no problem with remedying that by drawing new creatures to play.

Finally, to get the allstar creatures you need, there are a few tutors at your disposal. The classic Fierce Empath can grab your huge guys. Conduit of Ruin can grab your Decimator or Winnower, while also cheapening any creature you play. Yisan, the Wanderer Bard is also a great tutor that can grab any assortment of ramp, aggro, or other tutor creatures.

You may say: "If you added just a few artifacts, this deck could be a hundred times better!" or, "If you want protection, just add Asceticism."

But that's not the point. This deck would not be challenging or intuitive to create and play if I didn't limit myself on what I could do with it.
