The ramp to end all ramping. Try to get Animar out ASAP, and once you get a couple creatures out, he usually scares board wipes out early.

His protection from black and white is probably the most rad part of this deck.

Use the counterspells to slow down the board-wipes, as it really hurts early game. If he dies a few times, however, don't worry about bringing him back out, the deck can function without him once enough land comes out.

Avatar of Slaughter + Surrak Dragonclaw (giving everyone double strike/trample) is usually enough to win you the game.
