A very casual mono red control-like deck. It centers around the strategy of pacing out the game by slowing your opponent down with removal and punishment pieces as you peck down your opponent with little burns or aggression. When addressing the problem of red struggling with value and advantage, the deck is filled with cards that will allow you to be able to cast the top card of your library, or have cards that provide extra value from other cards. Artifact and creature destruction is the deck’s strongest aspect. Diaochan’s ability provides a consistent way of destroying your opponent’s creatures, given that you are able to protect her. Where the deck falls short is the controlling enchantment and any instant/sorcery based decks or decks that have means to protect their creatures. These problems have been accounted for in the means of cards like Karn Liberated, both Ugins, and both Ulamogs who can get rid of anything that Diaochan can’t or what red have trouble with. Having the two red counterspells will aid in matchups where you are face with blue deck who tend to use a lot of instances and sorceries. How the deck wins can be found in the package of planeswalkers, and the likes of the two Ulamogs as a big threat. There are times where the deck wins by punishing the enemy and putting them in situations where they can not play their deck without losing. If it comes to it you can attack the opponent as a slow win condition.
