You don’t need a reason to help people. (Vivi Hug)

FF9 is my favourite Final Fantasy game by far, and Vivi is my favourite character. I know he can be insanely powerful, but I wanted to build a more casual deck to play with friends and keep him from being hated off the board.

So I've built it as a political deck, which is also my favourite aspect of EDH. I felt it fitting that the Vivi deck just wants to have fun and hang out with friends, not necessarily by getting the win.

The deck works by sharing card draw and treasure tokens around to bargain with other players. Plenty of interaction to slow down the archenemy while building up your own tokens to defend you and drop a big finisher late into the game - ideally when it's just you and one other player left.

The idea here is not to kingmake, as group hug often does, but to spread the fun evenly. If one player starts pulling ahead or becomes aggressive to you, we then focus our efforts on slowing them down with disruption.
