Spectra Ward!!! Also Indestructibility, Herald of the Pantheon, Felidar Umbra, Heliod's Pilgrim. Ajani, Mentor of Heroes and Commune with the Gods can help you find key Auras.

Watch out for Glaring Spotlight, Archetype of Endurance and Arcane Lighthouse. Tectonic Edge or Ghost Quarter along with Molten Rain and the likes can take care of Lighthouse. You have some artifact removal already but Smash to Smithereens or Destructive Revelry could be good. Some creature removal may be needed for Archetype.

Overall cool deck, +1

And thank you very much! :D

Spectra Ward doesn't remove auras, but you can't enchant the creature anymore with other auras after that.
It's not bad, but be careful if you use it.

Need help deciding what to drop for what's in my maybeboard. Thoughts?

One of the Scars fast lands for Kessig. More often than not they'll be a guildgate.

I only run Razorverge Thicket. You think I should drop it?

Perhaps Blossoming Sands instead?

Drop

Replace

(Yeah, I think you need more card advantage :))

I would consider bringing Messenger's Speed back, as a replacement for Scourge of the Nobilis, as it grants you commander damage now and evasion in the form of trample.

Since you don't seem to be lacking land-cash I would recommend that you replace all ETB tapped lands in favor of a full set of fetches + basics and good duals.

Cheers

I dig all of the suggestions except for Kruphix's Insight. Not a huge fan of tossing things in my graveyard without reanimation. As for lands, I'd like to eventually run all fetches in all my decks. lol For now, I just swap them between the decks I have. What other lands would you mean though? :O

MrHighscore says... #11

If you want arguments for running Kruphix's Insight you are running Replenish, and you could run Faith's Reward and Second Sunrise which are really good in Uril decks :)

In your deck I would run the following manabase:

Multi colored (5)

Fetches (9)

Duals (8)

Utility / other (8)

Basics (7)

For a total of 37 lands (yeah, no filters)

If you chose the max-fetches route you should strongly consider Crucible of Worlds, and related accellerants (Oracle of Mul Daya and Exploration)

Cheers

I'll mess around with your suggestions. (: 37 would mean dropping something else for another land.

Gotta say. Kessig Wolf Run was definitely a good add. Also having a much better time with draw now. (:

Hmmmmmmmmm. Idk. The +3 is nice, but First Strike is a little meh to me. Most of the time, I give Uril something that makes him unblockable. If I didn't run a more unstoppable approach, it would definitely get the add. Thanks for the suggestion though and please +1 if you like! (:

I can't see a lot that I would change, it looks slick. That said, here's a few cards that I don't see in here that have worked out very well for me in my Uril build...a bit of food for thought:

  • Grasp of Fate & Shielded by Faith: A couple of stellar additions from the new commander decks.
  • Chandra's Ignition & Divine Reckoning: I'm not sure if you'll want to run these considering your creature count, but these 2 wipes synergize really well with Uril.
  • Three Dreams & Eladamri's Call: More tutor is always a good thing.
  • Academy Rector - Such an excellent deterrent. No one is going to want to attack you with the threat of a free Eldrazi Conscription looming.

  • Apart from that, the rest of the aura/enchantment package is entirely subjective, I really like what you've got going on here. Great deck, +1!

Grasp of Fate I'm not all too worried about but Shielded by Faith is definitely getting a place. Just what to drop. :/

I'm not all too big on wipes for that exact reason. lol

Three Dreams is already in here and I'm not really looking for creature tutors.

Academy Rector should definitely go in and I'll probably drop Eidolon of Countless Battles for it.

Thanks much for the upvote and suggestions! (:

Some minor things I noticed while playtesting (it's fun!) this deck:
    - as long as you can keep the beats coming, there is not much that can stop Uril. Double Strike, Lifelink, Indestructible... It is not easy to deal with him, once he is enchanted!
    - On the other hand, if Uril gets somehow destroyed, I had struggles to recover. Right after a board wipe, probably with a hand full of auras, drawing the next aura is a huge let down. Uril needs a good amount of auras, but this makes it easy to overcommit to that theme... a suggestion: you should absolutely consider adding Command Beacon, as it can mage Uril so much more available later on!
    - Personally I like having some Plan B in my voltron decks. I don't know whether it is possible to add this to Uril, to be honest...
    - I understand that you play creature-based ramp to have alternative targets for your Auras. Especially in multiplayer with red and white players their lifetime falls a bit short in general, though. My suggestion: A Mind Stone is never a dead draw, and ramp is essential to get out Uril as fast as possible!

I hope you don't mind my double post, but I just came across a possibly brillant addition:
Sun Titan could be HUGE in this deck, he hits almost 3/4 of the cards in your whole deck, which is much more than what is needed for the Titan to be playable.

    KCisSICKnasty says... #24

I'll definitely consider Sun Titan and the stone. The creature ramp is primarily to get Uril out ASAP so that the beatdown can commence. Command Beacon will definitely get a spot soon! (: Thanks much for the suggestions!

mana rocks anyone? Mana Vault isn't expensive, and it would certainly help you get him out early. same with Lotus Petal, Grim Monolith, Basalt Monolith, Mox Diamond, Chrome Mox, and (if you have the cash) Mana Crypt.
