Quick lil' intro...

Power level: 6ish, Bracket 3/low 4

This deck plays a control game, which primarily involves the same line in the first few turns:

T1: Land, T2: Rock, T3: Heliod, T4, Flip. This is, of course, the ideal line but oftentimes you want to wait until the midgame to flip Heliod, as he gets a pretty big target on his back one people realize what you're doing, and a 6,8,10 tax cmc is rough, especially in the WU

This deck has the legs to survive the early/mid game though - it has a few of Propaganda effects, and a TON of sweepers/control pieces to keep the field clear.

This deck plays a control, group hug, and tempo game all at once. It's pretty sweet. Enjoy the rest of the primer!

  • It's consistent - egregious amounts of card draw

  • It's easy to Snowball

  • It has lots of sweepers/interaction

  • It's fairly easy to pilot

  • It has teeth even with little mana open

  • It has tons of gas

  • It's pretty resilient, as it can has ways to deal with most threats in the format

  • It's very tricky to deal with once it gets going with Heliod

  • It's noticeably weaker without a flipped Heliod

  • It struggles with exceptional ramp in the early game

  • It's artifact/enchantment heavy so it gets hosed by Bane of Progress and other sweepers

  • It's annoying to play against

  • It's passive and reactive before turn six or seven. You are playing with mana open all the time and commit very little to the board.

  • Once Heliod is flipped, play on the end of your opponents turn

  • Teferi's Puzzle Box It's not great but it's pretty funny

  • Faerie Mastermind early will steal games

  • White Sun's Twilight on opponents end step for the sauce

  • Not playing into the table's fresh hands after a wheel is important!

  • Play patiently, especially with Heliod
