Melek I brewed for a proxy tournament I have. These are some reasons behind some choices I made.

Counterbalance

Cards like Scroll Rack and Sensei's Divining Top go well with Melek, and this goes well with them. No comment on how annoying this is with those.

Every untapped fetch

I see the value in deckthinning, and I'm willing to pay a few life to do it

Proteus Staff

When I started building this, I thought it would be fun to build a creatureless deck (Thanks tappedout hub selector) I then remembered proteus staff, and immediately put it in, because I'm terrible like that.
