Mana Juice

Massive pulls from CMM helped out a few of my decks, and Yarok got some nice additions from the rotation of cards. - Jeweled Lotus - Thran Dynamo - Tireless Provisioner - Urza's Saga - Hostage Taker
The Lotus coming in made it reasonable to have Urza's finally because it gave it a second target for the third ability. Dynamo and Provisioner add some more mana ramp to help reach critical mass faster. Hostage Taker is another cheap way to harass opponents and get around indestructible.

Welp, I opened three Slickshot Show-Offs. So I put one in here and cut Kiln Fiend.

Rapacious Guest is an interesting card in the list that I am yet to draw and cast, so I do not mind removing them. Maybe they'll return in the future. In it's place? I bought a Hatred. With Tymna

Rise & Shine, Dream Stalker
azulryu, 1 year ago
Been thinking about this for a while and have decided to put Nether Traitor in the Sideboard. As great of a card it is, it almost never saw play unless I ran out of blockers or unblockable/fliers. Shadow doesn't do much and if I needed shadow, I prefer to play Dauthi Voidwalker.
That being said - traded out Minds Aglow for Indigo Faerie - MA was almost always one sided and I often was paying for it in the end. My playgroup likes to tap out so it never saw much play. Indigo Faerie helps target effects and also has the potential to make Fear cards more effective by changing my opponent's creatures to blue. Lots of combo setup.
Removed Fleshwrither as it was just too expensive. 7 mana for a 4 CMC that comes into play with summoning sickness is just too slow and even though I have the ability to reuse it with Lazav or the Looter, it is almost never worth the mana or effort. Instead, I added a beautifully thematic card - Rise and Shine. I have 17 artifacts in this deck and by mid-to-late game, I don't need all of that ramp. I've been in plenty of positions where my board presence was weak or folks would determine I wasn't a threat and swing out against someone else who was, leaving them open. Making 10+ artifacts 4/4 not only fits the Dream thematic, the concept of a book and other things coming to life, but it adds so much potential protection. We'll see how this plays but I've added it into the main board for now.
Also replacing Temporal Extortion with Dream Stalker in the side pool. TE only came out mid-to-late game due to the 4 Black mana cost and either put an unwanted target on my back or didn't do much since people were near death anyway and would just nullify it. DS however adds bounce back effects to permanents with ETB like Fogwalker and Baleful Strix, allows the reuse of Lost in the Maze and Cruel Somnophage, helps return Transmute Creatures to my hand, allows me to get a tutor with Disciple of Deceit, and allows redisgnation of my enchantments or a reset of Aether Vial and Cloud Key. Might add this to the 99 if Rise and Shine doesn't perform as well as I'd like it. We shall see.
Edit: Going to actually playtest this. Replacing Portent for now with DS. Curious to see how this manipulates the field. I could even potentially help it as a bargaining tool if I control one of my opponents creatures and decide to give it back if I need help with another opponent.

Opening the Vault
Mortlocke, 1 year ago
After running this deck through Spelltable and going up against Higher Powered Decks (decks that have stronger staples like Jeweled Lotus, Gaea's Cradle etc.) I realized that unfortunately this deck is too slow. I assess that the deck simply didn't have enough ramp to consistently build a board state that can threaten to disrupt or outright kill an opponent by turns 5 to 8. I made some changes - cutting Welcome to ... Flip and The Great Henge to make room for what I think are more consistent cards that contribute more to the deck's themes - namely Explosive Vegetation and the brand spanking new Vaultborn Tyrant. Vegetation was included because Welcome to ... Flip is barely playable. I had to be honest with myself here - Welcome to... is a fun and very flavorful card - but it's just too darn slow. I need it to flip immediately - not 3 turns from ETB. Vegetation is honestly the last option for decent ramp as the deck pretty much has every other usual suspect I could think of. If i'm missing something please let me know!
Vaultborn Tyrant took the place of The Great Henge as it has effectively the same function in that it provides reliable draw - but has greater synergy by allowing me to take more advantage of creature ETB Triggers. The benefits don't end there - Vaultborn Tyrant is a Dinosaur instead of an Artifact (upon inital casting), so it can be targeted by Gishath, Sun's Avatar's ability, gain cost reduction from Marauding Raptor and Urza's Incubator, or be tutored up by Forerunner of the Empire, Sylvan Tutor, and Worldly Tutor. Henge is objectively a good card - but Vyrant provides more consistency. Also, ill admit it...im a sucker for a Giant 3 headed Tyrannosaurs Rex if it wasnt obvious. I also cut Turntimber, Serpentine Wood Flip - I always found myself just not really using it's flip side because I always had something better to do with my mana on a given turn. I just swapped it for a basic Forest. I briefly flirted with the idea of going for another Gaea's Cradle, but I don't feel like spending all that money. Maybe I might go for one in the future if I really think it'll help the deck, but not now.
Another change I forgot I did - I removed Abundance. It was originally only in for Sylvan Library as the combo is pretty cool, but ultimately the card was far too niche to really stay included in the deck as the synergy simply wasn't there. It was cut for Farseek.
What do you all think? Are these overall good changes? Please give me your thoughts.

Added a wincon

Added a wincon with Aura Thief + Enchanted Evening. Make everything an Enchantment and then unless Aura Thief is exiled, you can take control of everyone's board as long as you can get it killed. A more decadent version of a board wipe.

Swapped out Dreamshaper Shaman and Staff of Domination for Firbolg Flutist and Flayer of the Hatebound. Flayer is a backup Stalking Vengeance with the ability to have just as stupid turns, making it much better than the mana-intensive Staff of Domination. Dreamshaper Shaman also requires an investment of mana every turn, so its spot is now taken up by Firbolg Flutist as a better target for Orthion's ability.

Major Upgrade:
- Replaced Endbringer with Emrakul, the World Anew
- Replaced Oblivion Sower with Mirage Mirror
Added the Rhystic Study/Phyrexian Arena/Sylvan Library and Gilded Drake of colorless. I went ahead of WOTC and printed my own Emrakul and oh boy, was it fun! I guess those squirrels switch sides just as quick as they populate.
Cutting Endbringer and Oblivion Sower has always been at the back of my mind. I love them so much but they're very situational it hurts. More often than not, I'd choose to keep those 6 mana for more impactful interactions or dropping must-answered threats. Plus, I have Zhulodok.

Murders at Karlov Manor

- Add Unexplained Absence, remove Generous Gift. One more mana to exile instead of destroy and target each opponents' biggest (nonland) problem.
- Add Meticulous Archive, remove Island. Tutorable, adds card selection and helps full my graveyard, which I can take advantage of.

Put in Abeyance to help with interrupts ; Battle Angels, Wedding Ring, and Bennie Bracks to help with card draw. Took out Mana tithe, Zombie Sub (may go back in), and I am debating on bringing in Ancient Copper Dragon. Also took out two tutors to allow for more casual play and will keep them in my sideboard

First Update
Citridon, 1 year ago
I picked up a few random cards after adjusting the deck from the precon with whatever in my collection worked to allow it to have the companion.
-1 Unexpected Windfall, +1 Stern Lesson - A little more narrow than unexpected windfall, but with this deck we should always be able to use the narrow mana, and it being permanent mana and 1 cheaper to cast is a big upgrade if that proves true (and the minor upgrade of discarding after instead of before)
-1 Whirler Rogue, +1 Geology Enthusiast
-1 Terramorphic Expanse, +1 Hall of Tagsin - This makes my colors slightly shakier, but this land can produce artifacts and with Zirda it can become a repeatable 3-mana ramp spell
-1 Reflections of Kiki-Jiki, +1 Thran Spider - I forgot that Companion restrictions can't see the back, so Reflections isn't actually a legal card
-1 Expert-Level Safe., +1 Legion Extruder - Safe is a neat card, but it works less than ideal with the swap to Liberty Prime as the commander. If I get its value, I can't sac it to Liberty's ability. If I don't, it's a 2 mana self exile just to get an artifact. Legion extruder is instead either a shock I eat for power or a backup to Liberty Prime's effect on a shock. And it's rad.
-1 Raff, Weatherlight Stalwart, +1 Drafna, Founder of Lat-Nam
-1 Brotherhood Vertibird, +1 Peacewalker Colossus - Bigger by default, has neat synergy with other vehicles. Also: it is a giant robot.
-1 Mind Stone, +1 Aerial Surveyor - Slower ramp to be certain, but the deck has a LOT of ramp, to the point it may be a little over-full, so I'm happy to swap to a ramp spell that advances my board as well
